Okay smarty pants...but I think you are thinking of powdery mildew, not mold.

Zoink, so salts can build up over time and waterings. It can come from the soil and from feedings. If the water you are using has a high alkiline or chlorine content it may be what is sitting on the top. I doubt that you have a powdery mildew problem. You can test it by touching it and then rubbing your fingers together to test texture. If it is sort of silky feeling it's mildew. If it is sort of gritty feeling, then it is a sort of salts or alkiline. Hope this helps. Either way this is probably what is causing the plant issue. Good luck

its definitely not mold or mildew its got the texture of perlite lol thanks for the help guys all ideas help...process of elimination ya know... im usin distilled water ph'd to 6...i definitely over watered them tryin to get my ph down it was over 7 like a week ago im hopin once they dry out a bit they will be able to take up some nutes and heal up

well being the smarty pants that i am, i was thinking it was saprophytic soil fungas, and i guess it could be salt too.

whatever it is, don't trip out and think it's cocaine and try to snort it!:blsmoke:

well ive narrowed it down a bit...its not a ph issue or heat or salts or nute burn...ph was a bit high a little over 7 now after flushin its around 6.3 didnt give any food at all for the past week and no improvement

I agree on the advice to transplant to new soil. Most "regular topsoils" are very very heavy for MJ, and even 20% perlite probably won't counter it.

I put a plant into "regular topsoil" once just to see how it would compare to my others grown in MG. Terrible -- stunted, curled leaves, totally stressed. I put it in regular MG at 3 weeks and it completely broke out.

I would think either MG organic or Foxfarm would be good choices. A lot of folks mix 20% perlite into FF, too, on the argument that it's also a little heavy. While you're at it, mix in 2 tablespoons of dolomite per gallon of soil to keep your pH stable; available at any decent garden store.

well i repotted 2 days ago they all had thick mats of healthy root on the bottom on the pots and starting to fill in around the sides....time will tell now thanks for the help gents

well they were lookin better for a couple days but now the same problem is back...i would love to know what the fuckin problem is
