help ive got these tiny white bugs

can any 1 tell me what they are.

the little fuckers jump when i blow on the soil trying to spread. cant see as they are hurting my plants though.

any ideas they are really active when i water my o natural plants but have left my hydros alone

What ever they are they need to die, spray them directly. Use neem oil, clove oil and a cap of rubbing alcohol.

Are there any ants around? I had aphids once, and usually if ants can get in there they'll eat the aphids, so its a good sign of aphids. If you're still in veg u can buy a spray, it sorts it out easily. but if in flower its a bit more of an issue. U dont want chemicals on your bud. You can get organic aphid spray too though.

if theyre on your plant its prolly aphids.
if theyre in the soil and roots its most likely spider mites.

but either way they need to die.
they might of came in the soil you used.

they aint aphids ive been looking around this site and i recon they are baby gnats or fruit flies does this sound right im a gardener anyway so i know most of the usual culprits. and to answer your question they are in the soil they dont seem interested in my babys

If they fet to the roots they will eat. Always keep soil over the roots never let them be exposed.

so what should i do bearing in mind i dont wanna spend any cash as im growing these for as little cash as possible im not tight its just i refuse to let the police have any more of my cash :cry:

i think you may have what i have. they are called springtails and are actually not harmful and some say even beneficial, and they are attracted to moist environments. you will see them in your runoff water, or if you have a drip pan, they will be in sometimes large numbers on the surface of the water, and you can see them on the soil as you're watering it.

best defense is to not leave any sitting water, and let the top of your soil dry out before watering again

If thats the case throw them out into a dumpster somewhere. You have to put SOME investment into this hobby for it to produce nice results id say $100 is least youll start with properly and thats pushing it very close IMO :-|

take 3 grams of cigarette tobacco and mix it into 1 quart of scalding hot water and shake it for 7 mins then let it sit for 30 mins. strain the tobacco back out of it and the water should be brown. mix it half and half with water and spray the bugs with it, they will overdose from nicotene and die whilist not harming your plants.
Its a natural remdy called tobacco tea.

I use it for a preventative spray for spidermites occasionally.

yeah this is exactly what ive got when u water they all float on the surface by the hundred i cant see as they are hurting anything as they have been there for a long time i first noticed them in my tomato plants and they were fine

they say that these spring tails actually eat fungus and dont hurt your plant so they are staying thanks for the help guys but the queen cant be wrong :hump:

i got gnats. how would i easily get rid of them? do they damage the plant at all?

there are different kinds of gnats I do believe...neem oil gets rid of them.
find the one with the highest pyzerethin content that you can find (likely spelled wrong but youll know it when you see it, should be the active ingredient)

some people get the bug sticky pads and turn them upside down on your soil so the sticky is facing down them when they hatch they stick. i dont think they hurt your plants they are just a pest but i could be wrong :confused:

No thats the active ingrediant in neem oil, you want the highest % that you can find, its the strongest.

I dunno about the gnats Ive never had them. :neutral:

I would use alcohol and water and spray top soil, then wait a few minutes and wash the alcohol away.

if you notice the buggs more on the underside of the leaf, whitefly. soapy water. good luck
