WTF Seedling "Jumping" out of soil

so i had just germed 20 seeds, 15 came up, the next day, 4or 5 have literally up rooted out of the soil, and some of them have there first leaves eatn in half.


Whats the problem w my seedlings, not deep enough?

im already takn losses early in the season

they werent digged up either bc i had cling wrapp over top of my seedlings to create a greenhouse effect, and control the humidity

well i mean the tip of my index finger, maby half a inch?

Is that the problem, i mean i just replanted them but i dont want them to continue to jump out of the soil.

what exactly do you mean "eatn in half"?

OK one of them was literally eatn in half, meaning the first set of leaves were gone, and all was left was the stem still in the soil. Some of them have there first leaves biten in half.

And some of them were jumping out of the soil, tap root and first set of leaves out of the soil...

wtff help me so this doesnt happen again

Hmm very strange. what kind of soil/medium do you use?
Any strange bugs around your house lately?

same shit here but i got chicken wire around mine so no rodents cant get 2 it but theyre still getting annihilated every day.
i tried putting seven dust on the girls it only helpd 4 a couple of days. also when i looked at the root system in 1 it had like a spiderweb thing where the seed busted through its shell and the lower part if the stock is brown. on other seedlings they have much bigger root systems. any ideas? these bugs are pwning me this year earley on it looks like the work of a grasshopper or cattipeler beacuse whole leafs have ben "cut" in 1/2 but i havent found a coulpret yet.
