how long can a healthy clone live with no roots? please

I've got cuttings that are three weeks old now and still have no roots but still look healthy.Am I wasting my time? are the garbage? or do I need more patients. And what could I be doing wrong to keep them alive three weeks and still no roots? thanks any tips or advice would be great

I soak the roc wool for 24 h in ph 5.4 water with .25 straingth supredrive
take cuttings just above node at 45 dagree angle dip in gro-root gel poke in roc wool spray them down and put humidity dome on then put about 12 inches away from 2 t5 floros mist once aday with ph water 6.7 and .25 supredrive

when mine don't show roots in 2 weeks and some have rooted in that time. i will recut and redip again. 9 out of 10 time it will root.good luck. do youhave a humidity dome.you want high hum.in the dome.

My guess is you fertilized them with something. Don't next time. Rooting compound and water, nothing more. If you want to clone easily just build one of those aerocloners or even a bubblecloner using an air pump and you'll have roots in 7 days to two weeks every time even if you have a hard to clone strain.

If you did fertilize flush them, recut however far up you need to go to get to healthy stem again and see what happens.

try adding a heat mat and maybe less light. with a ton of light the plant concentrates too much on photosynthesis and not enough on rooting. really cant give much more advice then that cause i clone in soil dont know much about rock wool

I saw a post of a fully formed bud on a stem with no roots.

So at least 2 1/2 months. But that is an extreme.

Your conditions are too wet.

the temp is 68-77 on average and about 80 humidity I have a papper towel over the dome to shade the clones and I have a heat pad under the tray.I just flushed them to get any fertz outta the roc wool now if its too wet in there how do I dry it out some and still keep the humidity? thanks guys yous are all awesome

dont water and open vents alittle to let moisture escape u only want to water when they dry out. if the roots dont have to search for water they wont grow..

Grab each cube one a time in your hand and give it a few flicks of the wrist until water doesn't flood out anymore. Moist, not wet. The clone should be facing the palm of your hand while you are flicking the water out or you will flick the clone out too.

You have to spray clones in rockwool the first 5 days and you are starting the first 5 days all over again, but you can always flick the excess out after.

I mostly mist the inside of the dome and not so much the leaves then you don't have that problem.

I still say aerocloner though, it's just too easy. You stick the cutting in the cloner and you come back 7-14 days later and take it out. That's all. No dome, no misting, no watering, no topping up the resevoir, nothing. Water and just a little time.

NOT TRUE, MINE ARE IN SETTING IN A BIT OF WATER ALL THE TIME IN THE DOME. I GET ROOTS BETWEEN 8 AND 12 DAYS.

so as long as its 80 - 90 humid no need to spray the leaves?all you need is condensation on the sides of the dome? and one last question... when giving them a flick I knoticed one loley plant with roots ohhhhhh yaaaaaaa baby!!!!!! how long do the roots have to be before it gets transplanted?? thanks and props for all

If you see roots on one you probably have roots starting on them all, or hopefully anyway.
You can find out early if you're impatient by gently tugging on the clones stems. If they slide out effortlessly there's no roots, if there's any resistance you got roots. AS soon as you have roots you can transplant but most wait until there's a good number of them coming out the bottom of the cube.
