i think u need better light. are u bulbs used? or old?

bulbs are new. using 24/0 partly for heat. In an unheated location, haven't got around to heat pad or such so using lights for heat too.

try to get GH's test drops, pretty accurate, i actually trust it more than my digital PH...either way i am a big advocate of flushing, you can flush with straight phd water or as when i have a deficiencie, i flush with a 1/4 strenght solution in my water, gets the PH lined up and assures your getting nutes to the root zone, but in this case i would go with regular water just to get everything out of the soil and give yourself a "clean slate" i have had great success with maintenance flushing monthly, especially if your heavy feeding, salts build up real fast and give you control over the plant....another idea is if you dont trust your soil, make a 50/50 mix of perlite and vermiculite, or all perlite, i had good results this way too, the plite dont hold water well but keeps roots happy with oxygen, the vermiculite, i dont think HD carries it, retains a ton of moisture...with these methods you will end up watering often and feeding a weak nutrient mix early on, but you have total control

you can chill with the transplant, one thing is for sure many of us here hate MG way loaded , you should flush flush flush, 3x water to pot volume....check your PH homey before and runoff....i used soil and i have moms in soil and i prefer to flush off the bat so i have better control over what the plant takes up, another of my faves is botanicare's cal-mag, always good to mix it in with your regular food, or when you straight water...it has extra N, cal mag and iron...nice supplement for vegging

answering a little out of order here, but what you said. I flushed the stuff 3 times, that was the warning from the RIU's that use this stuff. Seedling was looking good at start. gone to hell over the last 3 days.

you got me convinced it's ph. so I just went out and flushed the sucker with spring water that I ph'd to 6.4. should of started with spring but tap was easier.

How are you checking the run off? start the flush with neutral water, or there about. catch the first 1/3 of the run off, check the ph. Add some lime in the top 1 inch of the soil. If it is lockout, you can foliar feed with grow big or something. That will let your plants get what they need. You can do this @ 7-10 a.m., or around 5 p.m. Both sides of the leaves. Make sure every couple of days your spritz them off with just plain water to keep them from clogging up. Don't over do it. What I mean, is don't through the kitchen sink at them. Salt build up is a bitch, can cause lock out also. I like the idea of transplanting them. Take them out of the pot, and soak the root ball in a tub of water. Be very gentle, try and wash out all of the MG, and its little freind the green nuit ball. and transplant into a good medium, in wich you added a ton of perlite, and some lime

Yeah, I've done the flush, going to give it some time (2 days) and then decide which way to go. The outflow ph looks ok, around 6.0. I'm guessing it's salt buildup or something similar. I've got a stubborn streak(maybe just stupidity), others have gotten the f'ing MGMC to work well for them, so it's hard to let go. 2 days then if no better I'll make a bigger move, transplant probably.

Not going well, flushing didn't seem to help. So, what to lose at this point? Filled a new pot with sandy loam from a berry patch. Bug problems will probably follow, but that sounds good compared to where I am now.

Yeah, MG sucks. nl#5 is supposed to be tough, we'll see how tough. Plant looks sadder than it is, gave it good shower with water, dirt got sprayed around during surgery.

I just had to buy a RO filter. my water has something in it that locks out nutrients at certain times. My tap water measures: 7.4ph and 80ppm. Thats not bad numbers but i had no grow for a while til i fingered it out that whatever is in there hates budding plants. Yours look bad enough to me to take action. I'd flush with water, Ph at 6.0 ish. Transplant into the best dirt you can get (3 to 5 gallon pots). Give them distilled water and see if it's your water. You should be able to adjust the PH in your water to make it good but that's what I said a year and 3 dead crops ago.

thanks for the look, action is what I just did. no more of my crappy tap water, i've found a good spring water with 6.4 ph that is soft

hey growone what is the name of the water? i just tried to flush mine...i tried to test the runoff with a pool ph test strip....color wasnt even on the scale but i think it was very low....used the cheap digi in the soil and it was really high off the chart....i don't know what to do....if your transplant starts to work let me know

the water is from a local spring, not going to help yah i'm afraid. ph test strip/drops are much more reliable than the cheap digi's, at least from i read here. you might try a gentle rub with sandpaper to the probe on the meter. somewhere on RIU i think i saw somebody that did that.

your best bet might be distilled/deionized water, its pretty cheap . open a jug of distilled and let stand in the air for a day or 2, it will put the ph at around 6.2.
