is anyone familiar with the lumatek brand for mh/hps lighting systems? im narrowing down my decisions adn preparing for my grow.

they work great, make sure u are getting the second revision of their ballasts though. they revamped em.

I was told lumatek was a good brand but they did have some problems with there switch able power cords ... so if you do pick up one make sure i doesn't have that switch able cord... Good luck ~ Black SS

I have a 600 w lumatek that I LOVE.....saves about 15% electricity at least for me...more efficient, I believe the new revamped ones are purple color or so thats what I Have been told

your best bet to figure out what verison is shoot the seller an email or give em a call. i know bghydro advertises they only carry the newest revision.

the purple are the newest versions.. the first gens are the silver and the blue

I have seen the purple lumatek 400 and 600 and 1000 watt ballast sold for dirt cheap because of power cord problem. Prices like $126.00 for 400 w, $168.00 for 600w, and $298.00 for 1000w. And if you think i'm making the prices up "PM" me and i'll give you the site

I have had a Lumatek digital 600 for about three years now. It is the silver first generation ballast and I have not had one problem with it. In fact I like it so much I just ordered a second one today complete setup with econo wing for $275 delivered. Can't go wrong with a Lumatek in my opinion.
