My question is simple - do you think/know whether hazardous fumes can affect plant growth? Let me explain...
I have many healthy plants (aurora indica, white rhino) that are in the process of being sexed right now. I switched to 12/12 about a week ago. The plants are growing in my basement with proper ventilation and air flow. I use FF soil and nutes and never overwater or overfert. I'm careful with the soil PH and only water with bottled water which has a neutral PH as well. My lights are 400 MH and HPS, each in the different stages. I've put a lot of time and thought into getting everything right and have learned over the years. The only element somewhat out of my control are bugs, which I keep an eye out for.
Anywho..., the plants are about 12" and looking great! They're bushy as hell and growing vigorously...except for one plant. This plant is all droopy and the fan leaves are curling downwards. There's also some brown staining on the leaves. She is a female and just looks sickly as hell, while the others seem fine. Here's where my question comes to play...
I've been doing some basement work and have been using chemical strippers near the plants. I'm quite diligent about using hazardous chemicals safely, so I've been making sure to get extra air flow and ventilation while using the strippers. I also clean up VERY well when I'm done with a particular section. All that being said, could the vapors negatively affect a plant and ultimately kill it?
I don't know if I can save this one little girl, but I'll try. I was just wondering what you all thought. I'll eventually upload pics, as I want to journal the growth from sexing on.
Thoughts......comments.....
I've added pics of the obviously unhealthy looking plant (now there's another wilting one) and the obviously healthy ones. What do you think? I want to nip this problem in the bud.
