Yup, we are allll so insignificant, but significant at the same time! its crazy man the universe is just a mind fuck, you cant even begin to fathom it all....thats why you gotta just live your life, do whatever you want and do what makes you happy, cuz we are all just another being that lives and dies, and there is soo much more that we dont know and that is completely beyond us all...

I remember the first time I realized the scale of our life. it's a pretty good experience for ourselves. it should make us appreciate what we have more, because the alternative is cosmic dust . . .

yeah, I dont remember the first time, but I just remember trying to fathom and understand what possibly could have been before all this, before the entire universe, and you simply cannot even begin to wrap your mind around that notion, with time, we are all just cosmic dust
thats why I dont get stressed all that much because when something is stressful or making me sad or angry or anything negative, I simply remember that in the grand scale of things(universe etc), my issues aint SHIT! and with time everything will be forgotten...

In terms of the universe, we are not significant. But because we are human beings we can give to significance to what we want- we can give our lives and existence its own meaning unto itself. To some people I think it sounds horrible at first- but really its liberating knowing that you give your life its meaning, this means you can be happy almost no matter what.

-Not saying you should go out and blow people up because thats what you find meaningful- you should take into account the existence of others and the fact that they all deserve ability to achieve their meaning.

Post modern thought- opens so many doors.
I believe that like in the past- our societies will again change their schools of thought-
for example, for many thousands of years people used the pre-modern thought- which was there is an absolute truth- a one way( usually religious, not saying people these days arent still religious)
currently though we are very scientific -modern thought- which means we believe that truths and facts exist- but they must be discovered and proved- very logical.
next would be post-modern thought- which would mean anything could be a truth- its just relative to who is looking at it and what they think----

If you're in college and you need an elective or something, take intro to astronomy or an astronomy survey. Probably one of the more interesting classes I took at community college.

whats really crazy is watchin lectures on quantum physics and stuff like that, mind blowing.

oh yeah- i think a few of you guys might enjoy this, you may have already seen it,
Imagining the Ten Dimensions: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkxieS-6WuA
I like trying to think about quantum physics. One cool thing that I had never heard that blew my mind a little was how much space there is in between the nucleus of an atom and its first electron ring or level(can't remember what it's actually called). Its pretty amazing.
