just a cloning question

im farely new to this so bare with me, what part of the plant do you cut for a clone, just one of the leaves? or off the main stem?

You have to cut a stem with a growing shoot on it. You need the growing shoot so that the plants can continue growing. So this could be the main stem potentially or any of the side branches as long as it has the growing shoot on the end.

I looked thru some posts but couldn't find the one I was looking for. I am baked and on pain meds. Don't enjoy the pain meds but the MMJ helps alot.

U cut off lower nodes NOT the main stem.

yeah you dont cut the main stem. you cut a branch. if the branch just is the one leaf, its not a branch just a leaf. nothing will grow from a leaf because it doesnt have a growth shoot like the first guy said. i just made 2 clones today actually. i cut one of the bottom branches. good luck

I'm actually pretty certain you can cut the main stem, for instance when you top a plant; you cut the main stem down to the 1st or 2nd true node leaving either 2 or 4 branches and no main cola/top of mainstem, and if I'm not mistaken you can totally take the main stem that you cut and use it as a clone

Yes, you can use any growth tip as a clone, including the main one that you remove when topping. Apparently though, the further down the plant you take the clone from, the quicker it should root.
