I don't know...I think freezing causes the thc to crystallize...when it thawed, it would be soggy, and the crystals would break off...here's something explaining that.

http://www.weedsthatplease.com/storing.htm
After all your work in growing your prized buds, you want to keep it fresh and potent for as long as you have it. When you grew your marijuana you waited until the trichomes (resin glands) were just right before your harvest so that you would have the best potency you could from those plants.
When you freeze marijuana buds, you freeze those potent little trichomes as well (like icicles). This makes them stiff and brittle and actually makes them fall off and break off the buds. The more you handle the buds in and out of the freezer, the more you lose those active ingredients that make the pot get you high.
Yep, they freeze and actually break-off the buds and fall into whatever bag or container you have, making the weed less potent. All plastic bags have some static, even this static attracts the resin glands that you are trying to protect and keep intact. While I recommend using plastic sealable bags, I do not recommend freezing your weed or handling it more than is necessary if it is frozen.
Ideal Storage: Keep the quantity of marijuana you wish to store separate from your daily use stash. Put it in brown bags (or any dark paper), then place it in your ziploc bags and remove any air that you can. Refrigerate, or keep in a cool place where there is little activity preventing any constant movement or handling. This will keep your cannabis both fresh and potent for a very long time.
This should help you store your marijuana successfully and have it available and potent for as long as you can make it last...
Yo what about fridge/freezer?

I mean just bag it and throw it in the freezer or fridge, I don't know if the bud would continue to cure but it sure wouldn't go bad, and it'd be relatively odorless, so whatever you can't cure at the time you could freeze

Now, a lot of people do freeze it after it's cured, but I know from experience that freezing fresh pot leaves made them soggy when thawed..(I was trying to make hash).

you can bag it and put it in the fridge for long term storage but it should be a dedicated fridge so you dont get high humidity from the fruits and vegtables in your fridge, freezer isnt a good idea cuz its bad for the trics

Has anyone used those vacume sealed bags before?
vaccum seal bags are great, if the bud is dryed and cured and you use those bags i think you can store herb up to 5 years in those without loosing potency, but i think your pot would small like the plastic bag by then.

rubermaids and plasic work but i dont think any chemicals leach into the weed, unless its kept to hot, i think its only the plastic smell that leaches

Whether curing in mason jars or otherwise what is/are the ideal conditions/environment for this part of the process?

The fridge is a natural dehumidifier, so you can "store" weed in there but it will break down over a long period, as anything does except honey (which is amazing).

The freezer is not good for curing at all, but you can store LONG term if you pack your GLASS mason jar tightly and seal it properly. Just put it somewhere out of the way so it doesn't get banged around and it will be excellent for at least a year.

i dont have a wide array of product in the stores like u guys in the US,so i have a limited number of jars,i also noticed that my buds get dryer over time in the jars even if i dont open them,so from what iv heard of all your advice probaby the best way to store it would be to put it in a paper bag then a vacum plastic bag suck all the air out and then store it in the frige

I heard if they get too dry for your liking you can throw an orange peel in there for a couple of days.

I'm sure you have a grocery store of some kind,if so get oven bags or rubber maid tubs, they will keep your buds the same as you put them in,if they are dry when you open then they were probably too dry when you put them in because they will only dry if you open the jar:weed:

How about more jars? I mean, you may have a lot but if you have enough jars you will be good to go :D
Did you even read the thread???he is out of jars and cant get more, hes looking for and alternative, oven bags and rubber maid are second best to jars, but you can also use metal cookie tins they work good too, anything but trash bags,or plastic baggies, they have microscopic holes in them and the bud will eventually dry out,i also heard that chemicals react with thc but that i cant confirm, oven bags retain more moisture becuase they are used for cooking and made differently then sandwich bags, and are more durable, vacum sealing bags also work really well, tried it out last year saved some bud for 5 months was good as the day it went in but better, just make sure they are not wet or you will have mold quick a buddie of mine put too wet of bud in vacum seal then set them aside for 3 months opend them up to find mold, lost a pound of what would have been bomb train wreck:twisted:

A large mason jar is about a buck apiece.... well worth the investment considering the longevity of the product and the desired effect upon the outcome... mason jars...heck yeah!

Jam jars might work...just make sure you can get a good seal for long term storage. I don't think a tight seal is that important in curing.

All this talk is great but I ain't even gonna last halfway thru the curing process with my 1oz yield (dried 84grams for 4 days). Got more coming anyways and didn't feel like paying the outrageous prices out there... if you must smoke right away, defrost a bud in the microwave in 5sec on/off intervals and occasionally taking out the bowl and wiping off the excess moisture. After 30secs of zapping or so, you should have some dry buds of compromised quality. Not the best curing process, but definitely a good way for me to keep the dealer away from my cash until my next harvest. I did this to a little bit of my stash and now the normally cured bud (only 4 days so far) is getting better and better and no longer grassy.
