Thanks man! I was going to post an update last night, but RIU wasn't working. I'll post one tonight for sure, though. I've got one plant that I believe is within a week, 2 weeks MAX, before harvest! I'm getting pretty excited.

smoke a bowl 101 please read more and post less. Do not 20-20-20 during flowering! If you do its because you only can get a hold of miracle grow. That will burn the plants and then hopfully flushing will save them. Get some big bloom or pro bloom off the net, and you will be SO pleased.

PS smokeabowl101 not hating but that was a dumb suggestion.:cuss:

No worries, guys. I've done a ton of researching before and during my grow.bongsmilie

The plants have been receiving custom nute ratios during flowering. I started them off with 6-20-8, and then switched to Green Light Organic Super Bloom, which is 12-55-6. At week 5, I began adding molasses at 2TBsp per gallon.

Last night, I also gave each plant 1/3 gallon of Epsom Salt water (1Tsp/gallon) to help with the early signs of Mg deficiency.

The plants are looking GREAT, and I hope to get some photos up tonight (as long as RIU isn't down...again!).

Thanks for all of you who have followed along so far. I plan to chop the first plant either Sunday or Monday (4/20!). Stay tuned for updates and eventual harvest!!:blsmoke:

Big update here guys.

I finally got around to taking some good pictures of all the bud making these girls have been up to for the past 49 days. View my previous post (2 above this one) to see the nute schedule.

As far as time until harvest, they are all looking like different estimated times, which isn't surprising seeing as how they're completely different from one another. In fact, I noticed today that they each have very, very distinct smells and bud growth. I'll break it down based on what I observed about 20 minutes ago (note: genetics is based on my observation of the leaves and the height of the plant, as well as bud growth after 7 weeks):

Plant 1:
- Pictures 1-7 below
- Genetics: Indica-Sativa Hybrid (60/40?)
- Smell: Very piney, almost like a pinecone.
- Height: 16"
- Estimated flowering time: 52 days
- Frost: medium
- Trichs (clear/cloudy/amber): 15%/80%/5%
- Cola height: 7"
- Large Bud Size: 2.5"


Plant 2:
- Pictures 8-12 below
- Genetics: Sativa-Indica Hybrid (60/40?)
- Smell: Very skunky; danky.
- Height: 2.5'
- Estimated flowering time: 60 days
- Frost: medium
- Trichs (clear/cloudy/amber): mostly clear
- Cola height: 10"
- Large Bud Size: 1.5"


Plant 3:
- Pictures 13-16 below
- Genetics: Sativa-Indica Hybrid (60/40?)
- Smell: Very, very fruity.
- Height: 2.5'
- Estimated flowering time: 65 days
- Frost: low
- Trichs (clear/cloudy/amber): mostly clear
- Cola height: 7"
- Large Bud Size: 1.5"

I decided to start using the flash so the frost would show up better, and oh did it. So far, I'm pleased with the flowering results of using 422W of CFLs. The buds on plant 1 are very dense for CFLs, and the others are still filling in, so there's still time.

I plan to chop either Sunday or Monday (4/20!). I haven't decided if I want to chop all at once, or space it out to try different highs (I am hoping the trichs will be at 5%/60%/35% by Sunday, but who knows).

Guys, I've been thinking about harvesting plant 1 on Monday, but do you think it will be ready? I clipped a few leaf tips from 3 or 4 different bud sites and they all seem to have about 20% clear, 75% cloudy, and 5% amber. Do you think I'll be closer to 10% clear, 60% cloudy, and 30% amber by Monday? I'd like to start the chop then!

General rule of thumb is "If you think they're ready, wait another week or two."

I know you'd love to have some ready for 4/20, maybe harvest a little and cure it, see how it goes.

Yeah, I have been thinking about harvesting a few buds at a time starting Sunday, and then a few more one week later, and then the rest of them one week after that (so, 2 weeks from Sunday). Plant 1 is a tremendously indica-dominant strain, so I'm going to let it get nice and ripe before chopping it completely. Can't wait to try the first batch of buds! :leaf:

yea man that's a good idea because in the past i've chopped up the plants too soon and thought i should have waited a lil longer. i'm gona try this method of takin it bit by bit

Yeah, I actually took one bud from the first plant on Thursday night, right at 50 days of flowering. It had about 15%clear/80% cloudy/5% amber. I just want to see if the people advocating harvesting when they are 90-95% cloudy have any ground. I have it air-drying in a cardboard box in a dark closet with a lot of open air-space in the closet. Hopefully by Sunday night it will be testable! I can't wait.

I plucked a bud off my plant on day 46 of flowering (week 6 of flowering), let it dry our for 4 days and smoked it. It was terrible. The high lasted about 30-45 minutes, it was really harsh (due to not curing and not trimming the leaf closely enough), and it was all head high. I know some people like that head high where they can still function normally but not me....

After that experience, I'm not going to even consider chopping until at least week 8-9 or flowering (all amber trichs). This plant can be deceptive. It looked good to me, brown hairs and all but it turned out that it was not even close to being done.

yea, that's true. i harvested at 6-7 weeks and it did get me high but it wasn't the frigging amazing high that you want. The one that make you feel you in the game/movie etc when you're watching it or making you wana eat the fridge itself lol

I have swapped out my lighting for flowering, and I now have 422W of 2700k light hitting the plants from the top and the sides. Plants are rotated every night. I keep temps below 87 degrees at all times, and it usually sticks around 77-80.

Anyway, that's about it. The pictures below will speak for themselves I hope. Picture one shows the new setup with all 3 plants; picture 2 shows the smaller plant out-producing the other two, despite being half the height (notice the extra box boosting up the short plant to the lights!); picture 3 is of a bud from the same plant, as is picture 4; picture 5 is a bud from the furthest left plant, which is the tallest as well. Middle plant is the sickly plant.

What kind of fixtures did you use for the cfls? I have some screw in cfls but don't know what kind of fixtures to use?

They use regular medium-base screw in sockets. You can buy them cheap at any hardware store, along with the wiring and plugs needed to make a hanging light.
