blackhawks are on fire, they have a good young team with some vets with experience. How pissed would the flames be after going out and gettin jokien, and they have iginila, and then they poop it up to the hawks in the first round. Im from philly and love hockey. what i like even more is how calgary and montreal with be gone and the only reason the canucks are still in it cause they got to play the blues who dont even deserve to be in it.

I would love to see calgary lose. And don't forget the habs, they have a history of taking down the bruins in the playoffs. I work with a huge bruins fan and he was pissed that it was montreal in the first round.

I'm a leafs fan, too bad they're not in it this year, hopefully they'll at least be a playoff contender next year. I don't think detroit will make it past the conference final in the west, either san jose or chicago will beat them. The devils probably won't even get out of the first round. I think Washington will take the east and chicago in the west

Is this the Canadian thread?

I love hockey but it has one giant failing which keeps it from breaking out like football and baseball...it just doesn't translate well on TV. There is nothing more exciting then being n the glass at a game and few things more boring than watching it on the telly.... and that is unfortunate. It's a great game. I used to have Islander 4 th row season seats but when I moved to Florida I lost interest. Hockey makes golf look exciting...

baseball more exciting than hockey? nothing is more boring than baseball on tv. Personally I think the NBA is probably the most obviously exciting, but it lacks the subtleties that make football and hockey so interesting

I love watching baseball on TV... XD S'not boring in the least! At least ... not to me...

Hockey, however, is always awesome.

There is an atmosphere about baseball....an expansiveness. Hockey takes place in a rather small area with lightning fast action. Everything is condensed....if you are there live, there's nothing like it. It's an awesome game! But on TV, people have a hard time following it. A lot of nuance is lost when cut through a camera lens. I'm not saying one sport is better than the other but hockey just doesn't give a great showing on TV. Baseball and Football do, among others.

I can see that coming from someone who hasn't grew up watching and playing the sport, it would be difficult to follow the play. But if you watch enough games you start to be able to follow the puck and direction of the play. And you are right about football giving a great showing but baseball I personally find boring to watch.

Yea it's true about growing up watching it. And baseball is very boring to me as well. Basketball is a very close second. I can't sit through 3 minutes of either.
Canucks are taking it this year though.

I have grown up watching it, but if you just ask any TV or hockey team owner, it gets abysmal ratings... it's just not TV pretty.

San Jose looses to Anaheim and they play the WIngs for the western conference.

None and I mean NOONE can touch the wings in the East, its their year(s) and Stanley is staying home for another year

But I did buy seeds from Worldwide Marijuana Seeds, so I can be wrong.
Highly discourage anyone from their seeds.

True the ratings are not great, but it's huge in canada. My home team isn't even in it and I still watch as much as I can, but it is slowly getting a following down south........... Also the canucks won't make it past the second round, louongo will be too tired from carrying that team.

But how then is basketball so popular? That 'sport' mystifies me. There isn't a professional floor hockey league with televised games, because it would be ridiculous, and basketball is comparable. One team scores 50 baskets while the other team only scored 47. How the shit is that exciting? I'm more into contact sports I guess.

The Canooks are based around Luongo yea, you can't have a shitty goalie and expect to go far. Just look at Montreal. But they are scoring at the other end to win games. They will finish St. Louis tomorow and then they get a break and wait for San Jose.

Or anaheim like I said before san jose are choke artists in the play offs. Just like the senators of past years , they have a huge regular season and then tank it in the post season.
