Dying clones, help!

Help! My rooted clones are dying off once transplanted!

I'm using a soil mixture I thought would be happy for them: a dark organic soil, perilte (50/50), and some vermiculite.

I just recently added a more fibrous soil to cut soil compaction and aerate better. Added a fan to the room at night (not great ventilation).

Do clones like it more damp or drier? Any ideas?

Did they have lots of roots when you transplanted them? Are they just limp? Is your soil moist. It could be they are just in shock. You can mist the underneath of the leaves with a little water. But I think as long as your soil is moist they will dig in and in a few days they will be fine.

Thanks for replying! They had a few roots, so maybe waiting a lil longer b4 vegging them might help. (was worried roots would be exposed under florescents) The ones that died are definitely dust now, the (remaining and new) live ones are reading mid-high level on the moisture scale.

I'll cross my fingers and hope 4 the best!

So we've got
rooting: keep 'er humid under tha dome
veg: keep soil nice'n moist

Don't mist veg plants too much?
Or, on the other hand, would it help to have a humidifier in there?

When your rooting your clones there only source of drink is from the underneath the leaves, (stomata). That why u put them in a dome and get 95% humidity first 2 days. Then ease up a little. Once roots show in a abundance (my preference) then put in soil and water till moist. Never allow soil to completely dry out. Don't over water. Misting plants is another subject.

Marijuana doesnt like wet roots. Water when the container feels light enough that it needs more water but yet the plant is not wilted. When your leaves are drooping from lack of water that means your roots are probly getting damaged. so not too damp but not too dry.

And as far as foliar feed, I think thats only effective if your plant has a defficiency. Thats my opinion. And only use your humidifier if you have a humidity problem otherwise you dont need it.

I would also make sure you dont have any fungal problems or dampening-off. What did they do when they died?

sounds to me like its humidity shock......i am going through same thing......i cut up some two litter bottles and used them to acclimate them out of that high humidity dome.....4-clones went through shock, last 2-have done better with the dome

For me, I use a humidity dome through the first week misting clones and the dome twice a day, morning and night. It gets really warm in the dome under my 4 tube t5 light. The humidity is always at 100% the first week. But my cuttings always look great and they root in 6-9 days. Ive never heard of humidity shock. Thats a new one.

Thanks for the reputation info, will do!

My clones stay under the dome until I transplant so the humidity thing may make a little sense - my veg room is a little drier than it should be. Maybe I'll add a humidifier in there so it's a little less like moving from the Caribbean to the Sahara, lessen the culture shock lil...

so you dome the transplants under the cut 2L bottle for a day or a few days after planting? Hm. Seems like I'd be needing to vent those domes periodically or cut extra air vents or something...

my humidity in dome is 100% when i took them out of the dome and put them into soil...they are now in 50% or less humididty...within hours they shriveled up.....i took my new clones from dome to soil and placed the 2-ltr bottle on top.....no problems....there is plenty of air from the soil getting in....i also take it off every now and then to spray it......it sits under there all night and no problems.
