Listen, what you definitely don't want to do is not leave it in the dark period for a long enough period of time.......the darkness is what triggers the flowering stage......12 on/ 12 off.........when the lights are off, you must not let any light at all hit that plant until you are a 100% sure how many hours it takes to actually make your plant start flowering, it may be less the 12 hours off, thats why the base is 12 off because most plants period will start flowering within 12 hours of darkness.
If you are going to conduct the experiment you would have to leave the plant in the dark for twenty four hours first, then leave it in the light for 24 hours.....whatever time you start flowering is the time you should keep, when you start rearranging the time frames, is when the plants start getting pissed......so pick a good time.......my babies actually have growth spurts of two to three inches if i leave them in the dark for 24 hours because i spend the night or two away from my grow area.......another thing is that it may actually take you three weeks at the most to even see signs of flowering, so you'll have to be dedicated to the schedule of time you start flowering, and also, how long it's going to take before you'll see signs......afterwards, i have left mines in the light for 24 hours once they started flowering, for weeks and they still keep flowering......it can take just as long to stop a flowering plant as it can to start one.........give it a go, if you take good care of it, she should be just fine.........
