"let it burn"

i have seen some people on here say that they turn there lights off for 24 hours before havest. what does that do??? is it good to do or not??? thanks so much for the help.
I've left plants in the dark for a couple of days before harvesting, and I feel it definately makes the plants more sticky and resin covered. I've known other growers who leave them for up to a week.
no. don't leave the light on for 24 hours before harvest. the longer you leave the plant in darkness before you harvest the more stressed it gets. when it gets stressed it increases resin production. since it thinks its going to die, it tries to do everything possible to reproduce (get male pollen to make seeds) and reproduce, so the buds get stickier.
whoever is saying that you should leave the lights on for 24 hours before harvest... i'd love to see some scientific data on the benefits of that. all you're really doing is giving it an extra 12 hours of light (since the other 12 is part of the normal 12/12 cycle) and i doubt that an extra 12 hours makes a noticable difference in bud growth.
2009 just called. It wants it's bro-science back.In my opinion, the only thing that the prolonged darkness at the end of a harvest does is help break down chlorophyll faster, resulting in smoother smoke.
