an odd number of lights...

I'm planning on building a 6x12x7 type thing out of plywood that would house all my supplies, a workspace, and as many as 8 plants. Ideally, i would still have space to walk and to access all my plants and lights easily. Here's the thing, I've recently gotten my hands on 3 400w bell shaped HPS lamps for $120, which is incredibly cheap. Now, i'm a sucker for symmetry, and i can't really leave that mindset. could anyone help me revise my design to accomodate an odd number of lights in a rectangular room?

All your plants should be on the same side first unless you plan on splitting one side for vegging and another flowering, and you can actually expand the wall and grow space by moving you supply area closer to your work area, or shelf out your work area for supply storage, then utilize that whole wall by the door for your plants and evenly place the odd three lights above......basically when you walk in the door, turn to the left and all your plants are on that wall .......

those bell shaped lights are meant for hanging high in a shop and when you hang them low in your grow room you will have a huge problem with hot spots as the light will be focused in one area as opposed to an even spread, so i hate to break it to you but your going to want to get new hoods, but to answer your question, if the odd number of lights bugs you you could always get a light mover such as a sun circle and then that would maximize the lights

Yeah, I'm actually planning on fabricating some reflectors, thanks for the advice though. Also, I'm VERY financially constrained, so spending on a light mover is out of the question.

one of the hardest answers to get, are those that implement the bare minimum you can spend to get this or that result questions.......but believe me sleepless, i spend every second of the day that i get, studying, growing and trying to figure out the cheapest damn way to get it done, cause my funds are f'd up patna............!!!!!!!!! Know what i'm saying........ I get good quality items and merchandise, but if i can swing something for tha low, low.......it's done..........

Yeah, I'd say that $120 for 1600w is a pretty good deal, the guy's getting me a discount on bulbs too. I love Craigslist.
