How far are those plants into 12/12, or is that what the 35 days is?

I'm still getting through this thing... just wanted to say Nice Gun.

Also, you guys are kinda wild with your infrared stuff... I'm pretty sure the only way anyone on this site gets in trouble is from an unconrolled smell, or dumb ass snitch friends. If you cover the smell and don't tell anyone I don't think it's worth spending that much time worrying about it. I mean if it's that much of a stress, I wouldn't grow. (easy for me to say in cali)

Yes you are correct. They are 39 days into 12/12 now. 1 month veg.

Thanks man its a killer ;-) I am ready all of yours too! Figure its only fair. Half way through!

Dude, if you are medical... why stress. The Attorney General said they aren't going after people that are state legal... that means you.

Not like the federal government is going to bust your little grow. Seriously quit stressing. You are legal... that's the whole point of gettting your card.

I guess you are giving up on properly venting the light? Like gypsy said planning keeps waste down, and those little inline fans are a waste.

Also the little eyehooks and s hooks usually have the weight limit written on the front of the package.

One last question... why not get a spare door for the closet, then you can cut holes in it, then when you move put the old door back?

ok serious last question... what are your current issues, I'm kinda lost with everything going on.

Well the old 250 watt setups I was using were too heavy for them. You're right about that.

Having hooked up my much lighter 1k watt system, I am well under test.

I am giving up on "properly" venting for this crop, yes. I have put a fan in the bathroom ceiling. It's a 230 CFM and 8". It is not sufficent to vent the whole room.

Right now I am using the booster fans to draw the heat from the cooltube into the room. I also have a couple fans in the closet pointing out to prevent heat buildup. I am using my AC to keep the room cool. It is working well. I will have new pics today or tomorrow, but my nugs have tripled size in the past 2 weeks or so.

The glass on the reflector is cool enough to touch. No heat stress on the plants. I can keep my temps whatever I want basically.

The closet door idea is a great one. I considered it myself. I really think I want a tent though. Maybe I should reconsider...

Sounds like things are pretty well dialed in. I feel guilty I showed up for your grow too late to help.

Anyways... I'm here now, and ready for some pics of those fat nugs.

I think I already said it, but good work on your last harvest... you did a real good trimming on those buds. For a second in one of the pics of harvest I thought you laid everything out on the carpet... but then I saw the see through thing under it.

First off plants look really good. They seem to have a heavy sativa influence. What strain? As far as smell goes a charcole filter can do wonders. Have it set up so you can cycle all the air in your room every 30 min, you might want to consider buying a slightly larger filter than you need for the room.

Thanks for the kind words. I had a lot of help from some great folks so I lucked out. Wouldn't have hurt though, certainly.

Pics are here.....just read on brother! :joint:

I spent ALOT of time and effort on the trim, so I am glad people thought so! To be honest, now that I have honed my Gumby making abilities, I am just as excited for the nugs as I am the trim!!! :hump:

No carpet for me, but I could see how it might look as though it was on the rug!! :peace:

The strain in called Barbwire, courtesy of my nam WinkDogg420. I am not sure of the genetics, but I would say it is probably a hybrid that looks more sativa than it really is. But I could be wrong. Thanks for stopping by. And I plan on getting an 8" carbon filter with a fan. The hydro guy said I can just stand it in the room.....Thoughts???

Day 42 since switch to 12/12

Ok, so I have posted some pics below. I have taken them with a 6500k CFL behind me, in the dark right before lights on. That's when I do my watering. I think it's a nice way for me to wake up my ladies, and they seem to like it

I have gotten a substantial about of bud growth since switching to the 1k light. They are just exploding.

I have switched to the Cha Ching. I wish I would have waited a week or two because I plan on flowering as long as possible/needed. I am guessing about 12/13 weeks total. So another 7 weeks or so. But we will see what happens. As of now I have minimal trichome devlopment, although it is starting to ramp up. The hairs are no long totally wispy and long. They have clouded up a bit and turned a lovely pink color.

But I feel like I have a lot of maturation left to nurture. Well anyways, as Jig noted to me recently in a PM, I tend to ramble when at a keyboard. To the pics!!! Just read the titled of the .jpg for the description!!

Feedback is welcome. I am trying to be more copasetic. Spell check be damned. GrOw BiG!!! :peace::joint:

DAMN... dude you have huge trees. Those buds are plumping up. You can barely see then through all the hairs. If those things have 7 or so more weeks they should be very nice by harvest.

The 8" filter sounds good to me.

Also, I don't know if it was the angle of the picture, but it looked like in the very first pic... that the one plant is shorter. The barbwire #1. It might be good if you could put the pot on something to lift it equal with the top of the other plant it is next to.

And I LOVE the thing about watering them to wake them up. That is caring and I'm positive they appreciate it.

Good work, and keep that 1k pumpin.

Jesse I really don't think that you have nearly the odor control needs that I have... really...

And I have a 6" filter and fan working BEAUTIFULLY in my op... ZERO SMELL even just outside the door...

So I must say that I believe you may be going a bit overboard with the 8" fan...

With that said, you can regulate the speed on the 8" fan and make it pull the same as a 6", but waaay quieter...

Ultimately (but realistically) what size room/number of plants will have at the most?

You might realize you will never need the 8" fan and save a few bucks...

Just food for thought....

Yeah they are really filling out. It is amazing to me. I keep revising my estimate as to how big each cola is going to be. The nugs farther down just keep growing together, forming a big ol' cola. I am excited. I am not sure about the 7 weeks. Just a guess.

The 8" filter sounds good to me.
I really want to kill the smell. I am even worth risking a bit of overkill.

Great minds think alike. It ended up almost a full foot shorter than the rest. I have no idea how. But I like its structure the best, as I have mentioned. I have it boosted up by a stack of pots, upon which it quite securely rests, no shade involved. :joint:

Thanks man! I put a lot of attention into them and I think it's really going to pay off. I feel like I am learning a lot.

Very nice Jesse!

Thanks Gypsy! Glad to see you're still around!

How's life brother? How's that leg of yours holding up against the inevitabely more rigorous routine you are keeping up, relative to the doctor's advice? :bigjoint:

The rep is appreciated of course, especially from you! I still want to go hydro man. I want to figure a way to do it in a tent. But I need a system that doesn't involve me carrying terribly obvious contraptions into the op. Any ideas?

I say Ebb/Flow...

Everyone that has switched has loved it...

One dude just today said he wishes he listened to me 6 months ago...

Just do it!

I am not sure really. I want to plan ahead though. I want to be able to grow any strain with no odor concerns.

I usually do go overboard. :joint:

I want to design a grow tent that will perfectly fit my 1k light, allow me to manipulate me environment conpletely (all the stuff you have drilled home), and hopefully someday accomodate a hydro system. Until then, I want to have some nice sized bushes.

So, I assume the max size would be 6' X 6' X 6.5' or so then, with a 1k light?

You might realize you will never need the 8" fan and save a few bucks...

Just food for thought....
And I am hungry for it, so thanks much! I don't want to waste anymore money! I feel like I am getting close though to having the knowledge and equipment to start doing this all the right way on my next round, including CO2 hopefully, if I can get this tent thing figured out!!

OK you don't need a 8" fan for that size room... any strain...

You can go overkill, but you are not saving any money or getting anymore benefit...

Dude, I hate to say this, but you really don't have the odor control needs I have... believe me....

And yes you can fit an ebb/flow system in a tent...

Here.. check this out... I didn't make it, but I have followed it....

Seconded.

I recently (6 weeks ago) started an ebb and flow hydro grow. The buds have grown faster and frostier than i ever grow in soil.

I'm pretty sure i'm eventually going to completely switch my soil to hydro.
Its really just amazing how much faster it is. Its about the same workload as growing in soil, just different. But for my money, scrubbing reservoirs is not as bad as mixing soil or flushing pots in the sink.
Not to mention there is way less garbage to get rid of. Water goes down the drain. Used soil can go in the yard, but might be a little suspicious.

In any event, i really can't say enough good things about my transfer to hydroponics.

I say do it!

Oh no, I believe you that I don't. I just meant I don't know what I will need. I believe you if you think 6" is enough for 6' cubed max or so room size.

This animation may help too...

Ok, I am going to start making a list of what I need and pricing it out! Wish me luck!

Thanks Spruce. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so you've got a lot of evidence saying you sure know what you're doing! :joint:

I will definately take all the pointers I can get moving forward! For now, I think I need to focus on:

1. Getting the tent made/bought.
2. Getting a proper fan to exhaust the light.
3. Getting proper odor control.
4. Setting up an ebb/flow system in the tent.
