Pistils in veg.

Today i found 3 or four white hairs coming out of a 7 inch plant on 18/6. only one out of the rest that has done it. they are all from seed so the sex is undetermined. what does this mean when there are a few pistils showing and it is still a small plant in veg?

it's either showing maturity or you're mistaking the hairs for the normal 2 'pistils' (i forget the technical name) which grow on the stem by the nodes.
if it is showing maturity then well done, you have a female plant

Are they autoflower seeds? Also a picture would be a lot more helpful and im sure you would get some better answers.

how do youfigure thats not where the buds are going to be? are you not looking at the pic, those are clearly pistils

Looks like pre flowers to me. Sign of sexual maturity showing it is a female. If it looks like this then that is what it is.

ya looks like pre flowers to me to, but what im stumped about is that its still so small, and i ahvent put it in 12/12 yet. its still in veg under 18/6 light cycle...

Dude that is what they do. They show some kind of sign early on most times to show that they are sexually mature. You can continue to veg or go to flower at this point. It is what it is. Be happy.

Plants don’t turn female or turn male when the light cycle changes from 18/6 to 12/12. They are not asexual previous to light cycle change and then become either male or female. They already are what they are going to be. Some strains will just show it earlier and others will not. I have had female plants that showed their sex in veg and I have had others that did not show their sex until two or three weeks into flower. Things just happen different at different times with different strains.

never seen a pistil llok like that and belive me iv seen many. and in just that one little spot. i don't think so soory not from that pic. and i do see thoese 3 little white strigy things

I would agree with that. I have seen preflowers in veg a good number of times but not that pronounced.

I still believe that is what they are but they have me in a state of bafflement as to why they look like the Creature from the Black Lagoon's claw or something.
　
I wonder if the person lives near a nuclear power plant or toxic waste dump or something?

nope no nuclearplant or anything. so far thats the only one thats done it. will the other plants of the same strain do the same thing, or is kinda just up to chance which ones decide to preflower in veg?

Just preflowering. Congrats, you have a girl! You can throw it into flower anytime you wish. I had all four of my Afghans show flower (1 male, a herm and 2 females) under 18/6 lighting. It just means that the plant has matured to the point where it is releasing its flowering hormones.

Like so many other things in regards to what plants/strains do it depends on how stable they are. The single plant may be the only one to do it and they all may do it. Since that one obviously did not just do it the day the pictures were taken I would say if the others have not shown any signs so far it is unlikely they will duplicate what the one did but there is still the chance they are just slower at doing it.

Other that saying it is not an autoflowering strain I do not recall seeing anything at all about what strain it is. What is it? Possibly someone knows if it is an unstable strain or not or if it has any history of deformities.

so does that mean if i leave all of them long enough in veg that they will all eventualy show signs of thier sex?
