It looks like you are just venting the warm air from the lights thru your carbon filter. Thats not the air that smells. You need to vent the room air out, not the cool tube air.
He has the intake on a "T" fitting which I guess part goes to lights and part flows to the bottom of the box.
Are you supposed to connect an intake the lights? I always assumed the exhaust would be connected to the lights (as you have it) and it would suck the hot air from the top of the box + the hot air on the lights out of the box. Then the carbon filter is doing its job instead of filtering the fresh air comming in through the lights.
