I know this is must get asked a lot but is this too many plants under my lights?

Basically, I'm setting up my grow room and I was wonder if it would be cool to have 24 plants (in (4) 6 feet long PVC pipes with six plants in each pipe). This would be under two 600w HPS lights? Also my main vegging light will be a 1000w MH with some CFL's too. Would the these two lighting setups provide enough light for (24 plants) that are 2 to 3 feet tall plants?

Also are sunmaster bulbs the best to buy and how reliable are digital Ballast (especially ones made by digital greenhouse).

Well i have never grown in pipes but i am a soil man, have done hydro also but i like the soil route

24 plants in that sort of space is not good, if they are indica then they are gonna get very bushy (depending on strain) or if they are sativa then they gonna get very tall and bushy.

All depends on how much room you have.

If the 24 is only for veg, flowering i would get a bigger space. that space sounds way too small for 24.

Cool thanks guys for some input.
FYI guys I planned on putting some netting around the plants and post to support the stems with this many plants in one location). Obviously, I'll have a dehumidifier, fans, intake, exhaust, vents, ect...I'm going with the works. I'm going to spend 3000-5000 bucks total on my rooms (collectively). Because of how I'll have the humidity in check and I'll have proper air flow, intake, and exhaust, I thought I could possibly put this many plants in one area. Oh and I think I forgot to mention each of these hydro setup will be housed in their own 8x8 or bigger room. It will actually be a room they are housed in (not a tiny hydrohut, closet, or drawer). So they will be in a nice drywall enclosed room with good ventilation, Insulation (that's a maybe depending on how cold/hot the basement gets) and each room will have a dehumidifier or an ac unit (once again depending on temps).

You think an 8x8 grow space would be fine for 24 2-3 footers? Yeah I was going to do 2 6x6 hydro setups in two 8x8 (or bigger rooms). Or should I do 5 plants (spaced 1.2 feet from each other for a total of 20 plants in that 6x6 space)? One vegging and one flower room. I was going to set the plants all 1 foot away from each other (left to right each plant would be 1 foot from each other).

So to harp back to my original question you think 1200Ws (2x600w HPS lights) would provide enought lighting for this system? Or should I scale down the amount of plants to like 18-20?

Heres a drawing of what I had in mind. Obviously I'm still in the planning stages.

HTG sells something simular to what I'm going to hand build (they use a Fence post it seems) and theirs has 60 holes for net pots (obviously this is way too many and you'd have to do tiny ass plants) and their plants are only spaced 6 inches from each other. Ok i can see what you mean now, yeah that looks great tbh. But are they sativa or indica, as i can see bith pvc pipes are only 1.5 feet away from the next and sativas wont stay that thin. i would persoanly scale down then opp.

If its for commercial and not persoanl then yeah get as many as you can the lights will be enought, but for quality i would scale down.

If i had that set up, and the space lol. I would only do 12, i would not be greedy and max out the room.

At max do 18, 24 is way to much.

I'll be growing blueberry, mazar, white widow, powerplant, and maybe strawberry cough. All seeds are being bought at the dutch passion store in Amsterdam so I can I get the freshest best seeds possible. Seriously this grow room will be 1st class all the way (mylar walls, floors, great duct work (with powerful intake and exhaust fans), CO2, ect..! Mother plants will be kept in the vegging room (it will be bigger than the fruiting room) and they will be hooked up to their own hydro systems (with their own res and pumps) that will be bucket based (each plant will have their own 5 gal bucket). That system (the mother system will either be a top feed drip or a flood and drain bucket (still deciding on which one I want for that). I'm doing the bucket system for the mom's in case a pump ever goes out they'll still have plenty of water on the bottom of the bucket (with a fogger too).

Yeah I'm going to get a big ass carbon filter and house an ozone generator in an air tight enclosure (this will be very far away form the plants and people) that will take the hot air and the smelly air out of the house.
