Well i mean my post count is around 300, so i'm not really paranoid. i'm doing something i believe in and i'm growing for personal use only. i'm more or less looking for a definite answer as to what's stopping Uncle Sam from using RIU as an easy way to turn me into a criminal.

I know what you mean. And I really do believe if any authority figures wanted to bust me they could. There's not much stopping them. But I have to disagree with you that they can't make a case on hear-say. They can get away with blatantly entrapping Tommy Chong just to set an example in the fresh aftermath of 9-11. Then, I think, they can raid anyone of us if they really wanted.

In all I guess the best bet is to not be dumb and cocky about what you're doing and try to be humble by not bragging if you are actually growing commercially. I don't really think that if someone were to get popped, it would be the guy growing 1 or 2 plants for personal use. It just doesn't seem worth the financial resources the government would have to put into it.

An IP address is not an end-all identifier.

The biggest thing that was able to be used for true identification was the Processor Serial Number introduced in the Pentium 3 line. Due to major privacy concerns, that feature got stripped out in the second-gen P4 line (first gen had the CPUID but you could turn it off.)

After all, you could just as easily use a cantenna and get wireless signal from another place a few hundred yards down the road, or setup a wireless repeater using an old router and DD-WRT firmware.
