any of you have suggestions on where to get buckets for as little $$$ as possible? I need about 10-15 buckets.... 2.5-5 gal size

I don't have any rockwool readily available to plant my seedlings in, so is there a way I could go about raising it in a cup with soil and then transplanting it into my hempy bucket?

I do the same thing, only with powder, and i have a dome with vents in the top that are adjustable, also i do the 24 hrs dark right after cutting.
One good trick with RW is to let it dry out good before re-watering. I only spray a quick mist over my clones, daily, then water the cubes with a clone mix when they look dry. Dip the RW into the water up to about half way up the cube. Shake access water off.
I was gonna suggest that, try half gallon milk jugs, or juice jugs.
Yup, just wash the soil off carefully, and put into hempy.

well i managed to bring up my humidity to 50% not too humid and not too dry. i put more perlite in my tray w/ my rw cubes...seems to keep the cubes moist longer now since before they wer drying every 1 day. BTW there are not clones i grew them from seed.

hey guys, i apologize if this has already been covered (only up to pg77) but have growers had success w/ hempy buckets using PBP nutes? i'm nervous that i would have big pH swings.

I personally do not like PBP. Irks me that you have to suppliment Cal/Mag to get any mg at all. That being said, it should work fine if you already have some BPB base and Cal/Mag + whatever. Hempy PH flux is just like Hydro. Because it is hydro, escentailly. Hand-watered hydro.

New ta this site & I honestly can't wait for my nice little package to come in so I can begin with this grow, just reading through this thread alone has givin' me alotta good studyin' ha...my only thing is that from my understanding this was developed for outdoor growing right...im doing an outdoor grow so this would be much more advantageous over an indoor in terms of growth right??

Thanks doogleef. As far as pests, I've got that covered, thieves won't be an issue as it's going to be just about 20 yards out from my place and their is no-non noticeable way to get near there and it's very secluded...but with the rain and pollen what do you think I should do? There's no way for me to move them indoors as they will be noticed and with the rouge pollen what do you mean?

Pollen from other plants (non mj) have been known to travel up to two miles and pollenate thier mate. I am pretty sure that could happen with mj as well. Not to mention you might have some bees or other bugs that might have a medical need for your plant and bring pollen from a male or hermie that is even futher away.

THat is just the breaks outdoors, bro. Nothing to be done but keep an eye on it and treat for any bugs you find. There are oils/sprays (google Zero Tolerance spray) you can put on to repel some pests. I can;t vouch for their effectiveness though. Never used them myself. You can put up a tent-tarp if it rains to much on late-stage buds.

bees dont normally bother cannabis its rare for pollination to happen from bees on cannabis plants. i do know that in spain rogue pollen can travel all the way from morocco and pollinate outdoor plants.

Didn't mean they would bother it, but bees get sick too, and they might need a little THC too.

Well hopefully their arnt any other mj plants around for 2 miles, I'd say I'd doubt it but you never know ha. All of the seeds I got are feminized so i shouldnt have the issue with having to deal with a possible male. Other than that yeah I bought some random anti-pest spray a few days ago from the store but I wasn't really sure of any good brands. And the bees need to hold off on the healing lol...during veg and flowering though should I ever cover it from the rain, thunderstorm or nething?

when the buds are big and dense too much rain can promote bud rot(mold) this is mostly a problem with strains that produce dense buds mainly indicas. if it rains many days in a row you might want to cover them.

I must say we transplanted some of my friends grow from a plain soil bucket being fed with nutes 3 weeks into its veg into a hempy bucket it's a week later and you can tell the gains are quite large, it looks healthier and just growing crazy fast now...

Okay, so far I have transplanted 5 plants into 5 gal hempy buckets.... plants were originally in potting soil in small cups and were about 10" or so.... how long do you guys think it will take for the roots to hit the bottom of the 5 gal buckets so they're using the reservoir? I'm guessing 14-20 days or so... does that sound right? Hopefully I can keep them going alright until then. I think maybe a bit smaller buckets would have been smarter... oh well...
