Life after 'out-gassing'

Here are some pics of my current grow. There is one Aurora Indica, 2 Purple Kushs, 2 APS (Afghan Purple Skunk Cross).
I lost my last three grows to 'out-gassing', so this is kind of a practise run with my environmentaly improoved grow space. Usually I'm in Hydro, but since I wanted to test the space I decided to give Promix a try. Currently they are getting 1/3 RO 2/3 Tab water. It seems the Promix has a bit of nutes in it, actually way to much for my taste, my meter peaks out when I check initial 'run-off' That's why they lok kind a drunk lol. Overall, once I got used to not fucking with the ph all the time (Hydro habit lol) and trusting the promix buffers, every thing seems to be going well.
I'm maintaing the EC at about 1.2-1.4, but I may have to bump it a bit on the 2 APS (Afghan Purple Skunk), they seem a bit light, whereass the Aurora Indica and Purple Kushs are a bit dark lol. I also decided to add 50% perlite to the promix, I think the stuf takes to long to drain, but that's a hydro guy speaking, lol!
Let me know what you guys think :)

You lost three grows to outgassing? That's crazy. Are you in new construction or is the outgassing from the surrounding environmnt? How do you know?

Anyway, what you have here is really nice looking, well done!

Yeah, crazy it was lol!
The tough thing is diagnosing it, since it mimics a mg/N def.
I had used spray glue in a sealed co2 enriched environment along with some toxic pvc glue.
Here are some pics, a sad chapter in my life :(
BTW, you know that you have a poison grow space when you remove a plant from the environment and it starts to improve ;)

My Bud brought me a gift the other day, a Querkle lol! It's a cross between a Purple Urcle & Space Queen. Anybody grown it before here?

i use pro mix, and i love it. im a hydro guy too, but i started using pro mix for my mothers, and they loved it. sooo. i tried a promix harvest. and damn. and by the way. there are very little nutes in pro mix, so you should use your hydro nutes.

Thanks MN, I use GH Flora Nova at 1.4EC :)
I went from Hydro and multiple additives to Promix and one freaking bottle of GH lol.I like the Promix as well, especially once I stopped freaking out about the Ph. How do you feed yours?

Cheers,

i run Humboldt's full hydro line. their whole organic line. all the additives plus my own growth catalyst. if you use pro mix it is advised that you just stick with the hydro feeding schedule.

my pro mix stays moist, but if you're in an arid environment you might need more.

my schedule- three feeds a week.

light feed.
plain RO water.
heavy feed.
and sometimes a little light RO water before the light feed.

Thanks for the tip, now I can't wait lol, that Querkle ought to be smoke nice smoke :)

Mine is just a baby, I'll put some pics up in a view days!

Thanks again :)

What do you you mean by 'my promix stays moist...'?

Since it is my first Promix grow I decided to feed them just water (1/3 RO, 2/3 Tap) at first until I have runoff, then I check my PH and EC, then I adjust my nute strength to about 1.2-1.4 EC and let it be.

Thanks for the info!

Very nice.
What strain is the bottom left pic?

That's one of two Purple Kush I have in there. One of the two is a 'out-gassing' survivor that I nursed back to health, the other PK is a healthy one. I flowered them kind a early since I'm still dialing in my sealed space and I want to make sure it is not a deadly gas chamber for my plants anymore:(
The taller one in the corner is an Aurora Indica, I love this strain!
I have a couple of "APS" (Afghan Purple Skunk, I have no idea how they will turn out, a good friend gave them to me, he said a friend of his has been working with the genes for the past several years) in there as well.
My Querkle came as clone just 4 days ago, so it is still in the veg area :)
What are you up to?

What is out gassing?
Something you will hopefully never have to deal with lol!
It is the gases that are given of by plastics (DBP, DIBP) and other building materials that can poison our plants causing at worst case plant death and at best case yield reduction.
In my case it was a combination of spray glue and Mylar (in a sealed co2 enriched environment) that caused me to loose several consecutive grows, before I ran into an 'tent out-gassing thread' over at icmag.
Most growers that run sufficient extraction/ventilation will never encounter this problem at its worst, but people that run sealed co2 enriched spaces are no strangers to the symptoms, they usually misdiagnose the problem as a mg/n def or they call it a co2 burn (nonsense) or light bleaching ....
If you need more info on it, hit me up, it's a lot to go over and if you are not having a problem like that consider yourself blessed lol:)

I have a bagseed 5 wks into flower that looks like your purple kush. Creamy light colored pistils with very dark foliage and bud leaf. It's very close noded also, 1/2-1".

Here is a pic of a Strawberry Cough x Deep Chunk, it is by far the smallest in there. It is at about 3 weeks 12/12, but it never overcame the out gassing. Vegetative growth was completely stunted :(
I still have one clone of this sickish babe, it rooted too, but I do not know yet if it will grow at a normal rate?!
