general hydroponics nutrients

ok.. this is my first attempt at an indoor grow. i am growing under a 250 watt hps.. growing mk ultra and diesel and sour cream.. i bought the lamp used from a fellow grower and with the purchase he also gave two five gallon jugs of general hydroponics nutrients.. micro and flora.. i looked on the jugs when mixing it and it looks like i am missing one of the three parts of the nutes.. i am wondering if this will f any thing up or if there is anything to use to supplement for the missing nute?
ive been reading this site for awhile now along with like every book, magazine and whatnot for about the past ten or so.. but ive still got a few ?s that i can hopefully get answered on here along the way

Buy new nutrients you don't know how old they are ,so i would buy new even if i did know how old they were if you are growing hydrophonicly there are loads of great feed out there i never stray from vitalink.i use this for veg and flowering.i i have had some stonking grows.

kool.. thanks for the help.. i am only growing in soil.. that brings me back to me second question.. is d general hydro nutes good for soil grows as well as hydro? i am also looking into getting some fox farms soil but ive heard evil things about peps getting followed home from the local hydro store and getting a knock on the door.. how is the shipping prices on soil? gotta b a lil heavy i would think?

yea always do a little bit of secret squirrel shit when it comes to hydro shop ...its just smart people... have someone you know give you a ride to hydro store and then unload it at ther house .......make sure they have moderate traffic .....and then pick up stuff from them later ...its not like they gonna stake out a house for days and follow every car that goes to that house ....just make sure nothin is goin on at that house so that if you do have lazy cops followin people around ...they got shit ......

it is pretty crazy that you have to do the secret squirel shit just to grow a lil bud.. but as im not trying to get busted i think ill take your idea of driving with a buddy to the hydro shop to heart..
i havent been the least nervous about ordering seeds of the web from the attitude.. ok maybe a lil.. lol.. but the idea of having the five o following me home from the grow shop did make me a lil nervous. so i guess ill be a making a few calls to my grandmom later today and see if shes down with driving me around a lil today..

ive got a lil ? about how long i should be leaving the light on for.. now ive always read everywhere that for veg you should use 18 on 6 off.. but after i started growing and reading on here and elsewhere that to come up with more females the light cycle should be cut back from 18 to like 14 or 16.. so thats the way ive been going.
any advice on this would be much appreciated.. i am about three or so weeks out from popping out of the soil.. all looks good, but was just wondering what people recomend for the light cycle

18/6.......... 14 or 16 hours will only give your plants less lights and I've heard of plants actually starting to flower with only 14 hours of light. Giving it less light to try to get females is WRONG!

yea i would make sure you give them at least 18 hours of light at a time ....i use to run em for 24 hours a day but i think they like that 6 hours of off time ....18/6 is a perfect schedule

that is the thing that i guess i will have to do more research on and get a feel for what works with me setup. it all depends where you ask and whom replies to what kind of advice you get.. it can all b a lil overwhelming to a noob like me..
the reason i had asked about the light regime to begin with was i was checking out some other persons grow journal and their plants looked way farther along at the same time period.. granted they were using 400 watter and i only a 250. but.
ive got my girls back on 18 hours on now and ive got me fingers crossed that i haven't stunted them too badly..

ok .. heres hopefully an easy one for everyone out there..
i first started my plants out at about 30 inches from the glass in my hood.. then i read on here that they should be between five and eighteen inches, so i moved them up to about fourteen. that is when the diesel plant seemed to get a lil burned on one set of the leafs edges.. so i moved them back to about twenty four inches.. which is where i have them now. i was just courious about what the correct height should be from my 250 watt hps? any and all comments are greatly appreciated..

is it aircooled or anythin that would make a big difference ...otherwise i would keep it about a foot away from em until they get older then they can get pretty close to a non cooled bulb ......i have a 400 watt that my bucket almost touches ....but when they are young they are much more sensitive

yah.. no.. it is not an aircooled hood.. but i do have two inilne fans hooked up to that moveable metal ducts.. one up high exhausting out and one down low to bring in fresh air.
so about a foot sounds good to me if it sounds good to u. lol..
ive got no problem asking for help with things.. so i am sure i will be here asking sum more ?s sooner rather than later..

the diesel and the mk ultra are about fifteen or sixteen days old now.. have to check out my lil calender to be certain. and i just germinated another two sour cream seeds on sunday and put them in soil yesterday.. i will have to dust off my camera and snap a few pix of them for you.
thanks for the interest.. it makes me want to strive to do better and have a better grow knowing that the whole world could be watching.. and although this site is pretty anonymous and all, i think i would find it a lil humiliating to fall flat on me face first time out and all.. but im am sure i will make some mistakes along the way but that is what this is all about.. a learning process .. the cool thing is that i have everyone heres brain to pick.. thanx again doc.

oh yeah.. the diesel plant was a freebie from the attitude for ordering over a certain amount of cash.. it is from g13 labs, whom ive never heard of.. i was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with any of the g13 labs strains? the mk ultra is thseeds if i remember right.. i also had bought sum fem strawberry cough from dutch passion but managed to kill them in short oder.. i thought that i was watering plenty at first but the soil was too dry to begin with and the water was not even penetrating the surface.. i got that problem straight now.. but like i said.. was just wondering about the g13 labs stuff..

i think there is a forum here that is about seed strain reviews that would prlly answer the questions on that strain ...i have heard alot of pe0ple order from attitude so im sure you will get feedback


and yea thats what we are here for when you get a camera you will get alot of responses from diff people and alot of good advice ...some bad too ..but if you ask enough you will find the good advice

ok.. the first and second pix are d diesel plant.. and the third is of the mk ultra.. all three of them way out of focus of course.. will try and get sum better pix either today or tommorow.. and had to say doc that they both look like they are doing much better a lil closer to the lamp and with sum more hours under the lamp.. i germed them in a paper towell and then put them in the soil 19 days ago.. both of them..

yea they lookin good that is about how big i can get em at around 18 days or so ...soon the growth will really start happinin tho ...

i can get plants to grow crazy huge with my rainforest aeroponic thing ....but that is actually where i struggle the most is gettin a good veg on ....

now i am tryin a technique where i use my rainforest to jumpstart and then transplant those directly to a pot that goes to bloom ...or bucket system that goes to bloom

ill post you a pic of rainforest they are cool ...fastest growth i have ever seen

o and in the pics ther is two weeks of growth ...they are two weeks apart
