Happy 420. Thought today would be a good day to post my little timelapse project documenting my first grow.
Uploaded a video to Vimeo here:
http://www.vimeo.com/4254367

Details: First time grow, Aerogarden Deluxe with Lowryder #2. Stock lights and nutes. Brita filter'ed tap water. Airstone. 24/7 Light up until the 6th+ week where video ends. 18/6 since. Of 7 seeded 3 were males, 2 were females, 1 died before I could tell, and 1 has been severely stunted and sexless.

Nikon d90 shooting full rez every 5 minutes for a bit longer then 6 weeks. 12,658 photos. Each day is about 10 seconds. 12 ft usb cord using Nikon Camera Control Pro 2. I was running out of HD space and patience so I stopped shooting.

Two more days till harvest at 8 weeks. I had to get a 8 x 14 foothill carbon filter for the smell. I tested a bud today and it is definitely potent.

The Aerogarden has been an interesting experiment :)

Thanks guys. Here are some updates pics:

All those little leaves around the bud have a crazy amount of trichomes. Are they considered part of the bud and harvestable?

awesome video and pics, really cool to see a full stock AG grow, esp in time lapse.

I see that two plants is the max you would want for an AG grow though.

Harvest Update:
Came out to about 15.4 grams (a bit more then half an ounce) of leafy bud. Not bad for mostly 1 plant, stock lights, and my first go.
I pulled right at 8 weeks which probably effected the yield but seamed to help get the pure THC smoke I was looking for.
The smoke may be my favorite. Hits you surprisingly quick, cerebral, no munchies at all.

The Aerogarden is set up with some Cherry Tomato seeds now for the girlfriend but I look forward to queuing up another batch in the future ;)

Cool, half ounce off some lowryder crosses with a stock AG isn't half bad.

You've got yourself a nice sack to tie you over for a while.

Great video and nice job with the first grow. Love the Rodrigo e Gabriella too!

I have a question...did you do anything to avoid root bound problems? I'm working on my first grow (LR2) and have two pretty nice looking plants that recently started to show female, but flowering seems slowed, and I have some classic signs of root bound.

The tank is just packed with roots and they're growing up the sides. I had three plants going but killed one off because it was dwarfed and getting bullied by the other two.

Did you ever have to resort to lifting out the root mass to deal with the overgrowth of roots and/or dead plants?

Thanks :)
Regarding the roots, they were indeed massive and crawling up the sides. I ended up pulling 3 males at different times all when they were fairly large and was pretty forceful ripping out their roots. They were so intangled that I would grab a few strands at a time and managed to pull out a significant length on each strand. I didn't want a lot of dead roots deteriorating in the water. I never changed the reservoir the whole grow as the plants would drink upwards of a tall glass of water every day and would almost dry up the reservoir if I was gone more then 2-3 days. I ended up with one very large female and one tall skinny one so I probably suffered from the same issue. I'm actually noobish enough not to have heard of the term "root bound" before but after harvesting I was left with a massive placenta of roots. A gallon reservoir is pretty tight for a fullgrown plant, let alone 2 or 3.
Good luck with your grow!

Take them off as soon as you see green poking up. You don't want them to grow into the roof of the dome. Fans are good.

Thanks...I'll need the luck. I pulled out the roots, and boy what a mess. I had to take a knife to the mass that was covering the pump intake. Luckily, I think most of what I pulled out was from the one dead one I had from earlier. Still, I'll be surprised if the plants recover and continue to flower.

Lesson learned I guess. Next grow, I'll pay more attention to the separation of the plants and try to train the root system away from the pump intake.

Very nice grow, man. I'm interested in Lowryder 2. I haven't seen many reviews of the bud / high. How's the quality?

@uiop 24/7 up until around week 6 when i switched to 16/8
@koop the bud hits you quick, cerebral but not as much as bubble gum. Pretty potent. Its my preferred strain right now.
