1st Grow - Client / Server model, perpetual, Top44 & Citral

Great news on 2/2, D Double! Yes. Some say that running 24/0 at the beginning of a seedling's life, you can force sex it to female. At first, this sounds like a crazy thought, but other things do it, too.. for instance, with many snake egg incubation, your higher temps give you a higher percentage of males and lower make more females. If you google TSD or Temperature Sex Determination, you will find great info. on reptiles. I've read several posts on RIU that discuss force sexing and a few long time breeder friends concurred. My Top44 was force sexed, as was Citral #1.. if it flowers female!

Yeah.. at this point, it's only a theory. It's one I'm willing to gamble on, though, since my veg. chamber is just a veg. chamber.

In other news, bag1's looking VERY sativa-ish with long thin leaves. Only one bud site so far, though. There's a possibility I got a strain called "The Fever," in it, which would be incredible. Fever's a bud you can only smoke occassionally, though, as it's WAAAY too potent. Black Domina x White Widow turns out very badass. I'll know w/ one puff whether or not I've got it. The taste is super distinct (and not very good tasting). I'm still thinking diesel is most possible, but it's fun to daydrem.

Both sprouts look healthy. Still no roots on the clones. Citral #2 has some hairs, but still looks more male, to me. A few more days should reveal completely.

And.. June 4 should be 52 days on Beatrice. From what I've read, the "44" in Top44 is a fallacy. It never finishes in "44 days, tops!" I thought 52 was a reasonable number of days for a harvest estimate. I can't believe she's got only about a month more! Her leaves are so dark and the growth is so damned lush, now! I think she's fit for a re-tie soon, though.

i also heard that if you give your plants a few hours of carbon monoxide it also forces females, its a one off thing tho and apparantly works 100%, can't remember where i heard this tho or how viable it is. just putting it out there

And things do seem pretty happy in there, yes. Beatrice's nugs are getting exponentially bigger. I keep turning her because I notice that the exposed nugs get a boatload of white hair on them each day they face the light. They're all just plumping up.

Oddity.. I did an advanced search the other day and Top44 was one of the top searched. How odd! Nirvana killed its availability, too, so there's just no more.

Thanks for the look and welcome, Gemini. My method is still developing, since I'm not doing too good with the cloning yet, but the basic gist is that I'll keep several "moms" in my veg. chamber and when I need another gal in my flower tower, I top the mom and make a clone from it. While the clone is rooting, the mom veges a little bit and once the clone is ready to plant in its own cup, I toss the prior mom into 12/12 and the clone is the new 'mom' of that strain. I'm calling this 'perpetual mothering,' since I don't know of another term for it or if it's even worthy of its own term. The goal is to maybe toss a new plant into flower every 2 weeks or so. I figure I can safely fit 3-4 flowering plants in there at once. If I keep 5 'moms,' I will have room for one cloning at a time and can simply rotate in whichever strain I please.

At the present, I'll be able to choose from Top44, Citral, Twilight, Passion #1 or the Bagseed (suspected diesel or white strain). I keep hearing bum reports on the Top44 smoke, so that may change, but it's a breeze to grow, for sure and, if it sucks, I'll guerilla the rest.

On top of this, I'm setting up a buddy with an 18/6 flower chamber and he'll be running lowryder strains (my seeds), exclusively, so we can trade a bit. That's a completely different method, though.. gotta seed if you want to perpetuate the lowryders.

I can't wait to get new pics. So much going on, its ridiculous. Citral #2 is fully recovered, tied down, slightly pruned and looks MASSIVE. Also, SHE's got hairs popping up out of her top cola. They look long and stringy, though. Wonder why I'm still feeling male on that one. Jenna is still tiny as hell. Her stalk is getting bigger and stronger, but she's still real tiny. Leaves look VERY sativa-ish to me, too. I wish I could find a picture of White Widow at her age, 12/12, cfl.

So the lowryder case got built for my buddy yesterday. We did the whole thing for less than $100, including the purchase of a used case, which kicks major ass, if you ask me. It's 18/6 and the Auto White Russians are germing now. The plan is to seed them heavy, so.. if we get 3 males and 3 females, we'll keep them all in there for the duration. This will let us grow for a while without need for more seeds. I think after that's done, we'll clean the case and maybe do another Auto White Russian grow, yanking males, to see if, after cleaning, we get any seeded fems. Kind of testing for pollen or such. Then, I think we blast out a full seeded Auto Hindu Kush and then repeat the cleaning / testing process. After that, I think we just do females of either perpetually. I'm guessing our seeds should hold us over for a while. PSYCHED! If you're asking how this works for me, I get a bit of the first seeded harvest of each strain and seeds if I need and we will trade finished nug. That way, we've got constant varienty.

I also figured out my cloning issue yesterday. Too much N will inhibit root growth. Well.. I watered w/ N the day I took my clones and had been watering w/ N daily. So I flushed yesterday, will flush today, got a ready-mixed liquid cloner and I should be taking new Citral clones in a few days.

1. thinking of losing the Top44 after following 2 grows to the end and seeing VERY mediocre results.. especially in the smoke.
2. thinking of starting a Thai Super Skunk 12/12 from seed soon. These plants seem to grow to the environment and I'll certainly have to tie the balls out of a TSS, but it might be fun.

I'm feeling the need for better seeds. Warlock may be in my future. Damn, I'm impatient!

Sorry to hear the Top44 is disappointing. I saw some grows but didn't really follow them. We live and learn.
Speaking of which, let us know the trick when you get the cloning dialled in. I'd love to know the secret. I'm just trying the reveg trick now so I'll trade some info with you at a later date

The Warlock sounded real interesting and looks bang on the money for genetics, but every page I viewed gave a different finish time up to 9 weeks, so you'll have to play it by ear I guess. They are expensive, but check out Nefertiti as it sounds right up your alley. The same seedbank does Wembley too. I think they are both potential pc grow cup winners

I gotta look up Nefertiti and Wembley, now. The Warlock is not known to be a big yielder, but apparently, it's got a VERY sativa feel and MAJOR THC percentage. I'm not buying the 29% thing, but the things got legend credentials written all over it. I love the sativa feel, which is what made me look into it. I think it might be more likely that I go on a trip to A'dam again and shop that way.

Edit: Wembley sounds interesting and the Nefertiti sounds a bit like "The Fever," I've mentioned before.

Yeah.. the third case is really for my bro. I wasn't going to tell a single soul about this, but he's my best friend and I need someone to take care of the boxes over my next vaca.. and I can do the same for him. Plus, he's got a MAJOR green thumb. I'll be heading over there to see how the seeds are germing and where he decided to put the box. It also needs a thermometer and the carbon filter.

Cloning. When talking to the hydro shop, I described my process and told them I was still nuting the hopeful mom. They said nononono. Gotta flush.. have it on water only. So.. these guys handed me the ready to use solution, told me to take my 45 degree cuttings and pop them in a shotglass of the solution. Should root in a couple days. Apparently the N is seriously hindering. This is not a great thing because I have N up the wazoo in that plant. Hopefully a few days of flushing should take care of that issue and then I will chop 3 (1/4 main colas is a total runt) and try 3 ways for all of your benefits:

1. cup of water, no addatives
2. cup of ready solution
3. cup of dirt and rooting hormone powder

If N is truly the problem, all 3 should work. I got roots on that nugget.. nugs are flushed, so no N in there. Also, I never ever nuted my ficus plants ever and was about 100% with cloning those fuckers in straight water!

Also, v.. what did you re-veg? Passion #1?? How's the smoke on yours, btw.? I'll need the re-veg. info., too, as I may do that with the Top44 and will have to do that with Jenna (bag1), if I like it.

I think having a gardener in reserve for holidays is a top idea. Keeping it in the family sounds like an even better plan

I would have gone with just water for the clones as I thought they would look for nutes and put out some nice roots in the process. Good luck with them.

Sadly, Passion finished while it was still too cold and my reveges will need to go straight outside, so Pandora is my guinea pig. She had 3 weeks of flushing so I've just given her a mild veg feed and turned her outside. No signs of anything yet but I live in hope.
For info, she's the strongest smoke I've ever produced in a case. She only came down on Monday so I got some popcorn out of the dryer yesterday and gave it a 1 day cure. My mate looked like he'd done 4 days without sleep after a few tokes I didn't dare look in the mirror!

ROFL! The fever was full on visual and auditory hallucinations. Funny enough, I kept some of it stashed in a plastic bag in a drawer for something like 2 years. No different. Dry as hell and awful tasting, but blew my fuckin' head off. I was reading about Black Domina, too.. that sounds REAL potent and 100% indica! Maybe I go with that one next time. Bah. I need to finish what I have before I go doing that shit.

The reality of perpetual hit me like a brick earlier today, too. I was thinking.. it's about 3-4 weeks till I harvest Beatrice.. 2 weeks or so later, Jenna (unless it's REALLY sativa) and maybe a week later, (as long as she doesn't sprout balls to go with these giant hairs) my Citral #2. Damn, things are getting exciting. I wish I could put something else in there now, too, but that vaca has me too spooked. No more of this 2 week vaca bullshit!

Are the Thai Skunk seeds from G13 labs? Don't grow them there shit.

Whulk.. yes, the g13. I know they're supposed to blow to grow, but I also hear it's a great smoke. Since they're free, I won't care yanking it. if too big. Also, I'm high and thinking it'd be awesome to cross it with the auto white russian. Auto White Chocolate China. China's between Russia and Thailand. heh. I was thinking that the genetics could be dialed in by 3 generations or so. Gotta be white and have that Thai signature chocolate taste AND autoflower. Problem is a generation is a shit-ton of time in a pc case. Packing all that sativa into the smaller LR1 genes.. man that's an awesome idea.

And dopewear.. after all 3 harvest is fun. If my oldest Citral is proven female by a female clone (which I will toss back into veg), I will toss it into flowering when I leave on vacation. It should be massive, though. There's a lot of dirt and, by then, it should have 7 tops! Also, if all 3 of my clones are successful, I may toss 2 into flower at vaca, as well, so i keep one new mom and have 2 small plants and 1 massive plant 2 weeks into flower. Since I cannot take much of anything on my vaca for recreation, I will have most of my first harvest results to last me through the 6 weeks 'till massive citral harvest. If I'm unlucky (lucky?) enough to get only 1 clone, I will only bloom the big mama and do the TSS the minute I get back. And I was serious about the cross, btw. So i'd save pollen from the auto white russians.

Yessir! The only thing that fucks the perpetual is the damned vacation this year. But I'll be able to get one large plant if it's female. If that big citral is male, however, my 24/0 force sexing is proven off and, at least I got experience cloning. You see.. the Citral #2 in my case IS female (or possibly hermi, but it's getting more and more hairs), so at least I can maybe reveg. if the big citral is male. I'm jazzed that only 1/3 of the 12/12ers had balls! So, flowering, we have Beatrice, Jenna (named after the tiny Jenna Haze) and Christy (named after the famous Christy Canyon). Thanks to v12 for the pornstar names idea!

Sorry no pics last night, guys. The D40 was out of batteries. Tonight, I should be good to go after the wife passes out. I'm so excited for you guys to see the new bitches, since my last shots of them looked like they were on death's doorstep. They're both amazing looking, now.

Beatrice ain't getting any bigger, which rules for the PC case. I pray I like her smoke. Most of the reports on Top44 say its high never peaks, so I may flower it long in hopes of more power. Damned commercial nugget. She also has a major browning leaf, which means it's homework time for me.

ive got a big grow on the go with some banging plants,,
and the other week i decided to take a clone for a mini pc grow,,
my tower is tiny compared to yours,,
just some broken pc i found in the shed,,
so i stripped it out and put 1, 14w cfl inside to start the clone off,,
now its rooted ill round it off to about 100w ov cfl if i can fit,,as i dont want to risk a 75w hps
i know im guna have to lst the crap out ov it, but its only an experiment,,
it will be 12/12 from now (9day old clone).. ill post a few pics u interested in my crappy pc effort. however this does not reflect on my big grow..lol
