this is my first grow, i have 5 plants growing from badseed under 2 2ft fluros and two cfls(cant remember watt). the plants are a month and a half old from seed. i have had the lights on 24/0 throughout the hole grow, because i have yet to find time to get a timer. my question is is this affecting my plants at all? is it bad for them to not be exposed to dark? my largest plant is about 14 inches and i feel like it should be larger, thsi si way i ask. if anyone has any input/feed back/help please please let me know. thanks

It's okay to have the lights on 24 hours a day during the veg stage. But once you start flowering you have to have the lights off for twelve hours a day, and the plants cant be exposed to any light at all during the dark period.

Personally, I only use 24 hour light on fresh clones, and only for the first week or two. Once they are rooted, I throw them in 18/6.

I don't see the point of giving a plant 24 hour light, when thats something that it will NEVER see in nature. God didn't intend for it to be like that, so why do it? :joint:

i keep mine on 18-6 all the time newayz both 2 save power and to have a part of the day when it can have water sit on it for awhile without drying out and whatnot. Also what kind of CFLs r u using? read the stickied post bout growing under CFLs. cus during the veg stage its pretty important to have daylight or full spectrum CFls(5500-6500k) and then during the flowering u want a lower "k" bulb such as soft white or cool white bulbs(2500-4k). and i tried to get the highest wattage i could find to. And what color r the tube florescents? and u could always get more CFLs the more the better if u feel like they arent growing like u want. Cus u might not have enuf light to cover the area. got ne pics?
