Can I go to 10/14 or even 8/16?

So im almost 2 weeks into flowering on 12/12. Can I switch to 10/14 or hell even 8/16? Trying to save a little on electricity and maybe be able to harvest sooner?

Plants grow more in the dark than they do during the day..

Never tried it! I know 12/12 works and if it was better to change to even shorter hours, I'm sure it would of been done by more experienced growers and reported. While some experimentating is good, do you want your grow to be the test subject for what has worked so well for so many? Experimenting with one type of fertilzer over another that someone else recommends because it worked better for them is one thing but changing the light schedule is another. I'll stick with what works in this case and not let my little crop be the test subject for millions of plants.

there has been tremendous debate on light-dark periods. those that argue their yield improved or their time to maturity improved (shorter). and then you'll get someone that has been growin for like thirty years and he says that the plants need a minimum of 10 hours. my last one went 11-13 and worked very well. but...seems to me that with so many variables that can fuck up without us doing anything wrong, why would we just go with what has been proven and reliable. and in the process hopefully improve your odds of a successful crop. I dunno. its again a personal choice, and whatever works for your specific circumstacnes. walk on!

ive read where ppl have ran with a shorter or longer total day. so like a 20 hour day doing 8 on 12 off. makes your plant think its been 6 days every 5 real days. iono, it could work. i havnt had any expierence doing it.
