There's nothing to get. In the US, a person legally becomes an adult at 18. When under 18, someone else is responsible for the kid, therefore people are looking out for said person and making sure they're not getting in any trouble. So RIU explicitly says that you MUST BE 18 before you make an account so that no responsible parents looking out for the well-being of their kids takes anger out on RIU for allowing minors when the kid is caught perusing the forum. It's common freakin' sense man.
