Hey guys,

Been looking at the soil for outdoor grow and I hear incredible things about the Fox Farm Ocean Forest, however I cant get that in Canada, there is a place that carries the Fox Farm Marine Cuisine, and I wanted to see if anyone has used it and is it recommended?

Otherwise if anyone knows of a good substitute for Fox Farm where I can get in Canada please share!

Here is what the Marine Cuisine contains... http://www.bustan.ca/product_detail.asp?menuID=5&SID=30&PID=825

If you add marine cuisine to reg potting soil, you get a similar product to foxfarms ocean forest, my hydro guy said a couple cups of that in a bag of "cheaper" soil is comparable.
I see this is also an older thread, but I am using marine cuisine on 2 of my plants in my current grow, the rest I'm using the foxfarm line.
I would like to see if it can make it to harvest, how many times it would need to be added, and how much..one of my experiments.
I have 2 seedlings now that when they are big enough for their final pot, I am going to layer the marine cuisine towards the bottom, that way when the roots reach it, they will have plenty to eat.
My hope is that will be an inexpensive way to go organic (14 a bag, as opposed to 650+ for all products in the fox farm nute line)
May have to supplement with organic teas, but it's an idea!

You should get the yellow bag of Miracle grow and add Marine Cuisine to the top layer(top 2 inches) of soil. Use about 1 Tbl spoon and make it a heaping one and cultivate it into the top like I said and buddy, sit back and watch the girls love it till harvest. AGAIN, its important to not over do it with this stuff as its pretty strong. Better too little than too much(Less is More).

MG has alot of salts and is very easy to get salt build up, I would never recommend MG to anyone, I work at a nursery and would sell fertilome, bayer, Foxfarm anyday over MG except miracid MG, any other is a waste of money. IF you do use MG DO NOT GET TIME RELEASE and flush atleast once a month.

As far as soils, you can use pretty much any soil with the right nutrient line, Get a bag of SuperSoil, Or basic gardening soil and use your nutes or some Marine Cuisine you'll be fine.

Good luck, Stay high, Happy growing!
