PH / MS/CM / PPM What does it all mean????

I have two water farms. When the plant use water the PH and PPM goes up. It starts at 5.6 PH and 2500 PPM and went up to 6.6 PH and 3200 PPM the next day. It used a gallon of water overnight. The wf only holds two gallons. Does anyone know what this means? I tried lowering the PH by adding a gallon water at a PH of 4.4 but it did not change the PH in the water farm????????? Still 6.4. The PPM went down to 2000. At what point is PH too high and cause lockout???How critical is it to keep the PH down to 5.8 or so?
When calculating my meter I could not get the MS/CM and PPM to match. When I adjust one setting it changes the other setting. I set the PPM using the solution but when I check the MS/CM solution the reading is off. I set the MS/CM and then the PPM is off???????? Should I just set one and forget the other???
Any help would be greatly appreciated…

hey. all i can say is try and get that ph down. im pretty new to this but, i know that it is important to keep your ph around 5.5 to 5.8. your should invest in a ph control kit. only about 20.oo online.:joint:

Thanks Bro. I appreciate your input. People read but don’t reply. Maybe no one knows! lol
I know its important from what I read. I am just trying to get my head around what it all means. I have PH down cause mine is always up.
I have been messing with this ph stuff for a few days. The water goes down and the ph and ppm goes up. In one wf I am going to lower the ph back to 5.8 and read the ppm without adding water. Then on the other wf fill the res back to full with water and adjust ph and then read ppm. Maybe this will tell me if the plants are using the nutes. I think the by adding the water back to full and adjusting the PH, if the PPM goes down the plants are using the nute but if the PPM goes up or stays the same they are not using the nutes. Not sure yet. I am going to try it tomorrow and see what happens. I just want to know if the plants are using the nutes. There has to be a correlation and I am going to figure it out!!!

ms/cm will have a lot lower figure, usually around 1 2 3 4 5 that kinda level where as ppm will be a lot higher,

ms/cm is a different scale for the same measurement, its like miles and meters,

ph is what we all know, but the ppm is calculated from the ms/cm which is another term for ec or cf,
