I highly doubt she paid for the shoes, designers are lined up for every first lady.
it's not the shoes or the $...it's where shes wearing them.
do you know the name of where she was? or any of the faces that she personaly helped?
this was nothing more then a photo op in bad tast.
I'm sure people are flocking to buy these shoes, but not helping the homeless.
if you ask me, I'd say she has only helped this designer in her fight against homelessness.

Honestly I don't think that her wearing $540 tennis shoes to a food bank is really worth discussing. Michele Obama is an ivy league educated woman who was in a position that paid significantly more than being the President's wife would ever pay. And I'm pretty sure those were her kick around sneakers, like when you were young and your mother wouldn't let you were your school shoes outside to play in. LOL I know women that would easily pay that much and more. But ultimately, I believe people are focusing on the wrong things. I see a woman there in her $540 tennis shoes (that are not cute by the way!) feeding the poor and doing her share to help her fellow man and not on 5th Avenue shopping for a new pair of shoes like our favorite girl Condelleza, during a crisis.
