hi guys, is this normal......I had to harvest early when about 40-50% of pistils were red/brown its been drying 4 days so far....now it has 95% changed red/brown pistils.
pistils still turning red even after harvest question. +rep for helpful info

Its because they die and dry up. Simple as that.

do the pistils have thc in em? if so how do they compare to other thc levels in plant? if i smoke a bowl of only the pistils will it get me high?

yes you smoke any part of the plant and you will get high (exept for the big leaves) this is because tch is layered all over the plant but it is mainly concentrated around the pistils where the bud is growing.

no thc in the pistols bud, but if u save your trimmings and what not u can get some good hash or canna -butter... And that will mos def get u high...lol

This is not necessarily true. And here is why, see thc is only produced between the resin heads on each thc crystal. These glands form around bud structure and calyx's and adjacent stems. So you will not get high smoking stems, leaves, pistol, roots etc if it does not have crystal production. So thc is not actually in the plant, rather its in the crystals...

I just stumbled upon this and figured id give my 2 cents worth.
Do the pistils have THC? No, However they do most likely have trichomes on it that contain THC. The only problem with trying to get high offa pistils is, unless you use tweezers and are ridiculously careful most of the trichomes will just stick to your fingers when your packing the bowl. This is probably why your not getting high. It would be even worse if it were sticky.
Ideally you want to smoke your bud when at least one of two things happen.
#1 The trichomes burst and releases its 'resin' on the actual bud
#2 The trichomes dry and suck back to the bud, when I say that I mean as it shrivels it will bond (stick) to the actual bud your smoking. This is what you get in the bottom of your grinder commonly known as 'keif' at least in the north east.
I hope this gives you SOME kind of help lol This is just my own biased opinion based on personal research as are all my posts.

i had the buds on a screen, the hairs fell through and were collected using 2 playing cards (i cant be the only one who uses em to pack a bowl and make sure the crystals and such dont stick to my fingers) after i typed that last night and went to watch tv i realized i was extremely high w/a very strong couch lock aspect to it. i only know they were sticky cuz they really didnt want to come off the card so i had to scrape em off.

haha just after i wrote that i realised i still have my bong so i packed it and fired it up and took a hit from the bong
