How long does weed take to grow from seed to harvest?

About how long does it take for a plant in soil to go from seed to super weed? I have 2 master kush plants under 400w hps light in fox farms soil....

It really depends a lot on the strain, but 16 weeks is about right give or take a week or two. Some sativas take 12 or more weeks of flowering and some strains take as little as 6 weeks flowering.

i think you could probally go 2 1/2 months (2 week veg, 8 week flower) but its gonna be a shitty plant lol, you could also go 20+ years in veg so its up to you really. the answers the other guys gave are dead on for an average grow, so i dont feel the need to repeat em

Don't forget that if you go this route, you want to hit 12/12 after about 2.5-3 weeks. It takes time for the plant to actually spring hairs, marking the beginning of 'flowering.' Just switching to 12/12 is not 'flowering.'

If you're not veggin at all w/ the HPS and just 12/12 from seed, you may still be looking at 10-12 weeks total.

6week veg 8week flower unless your trycs.(pistils) are milky white in the middle and just barely pst milky white on the top, more of a slight amber on top. u let the top go just barely past its prime, so the mid and rest o the plant is ptemo. plus all the other things theas great people have said.

I grow them hot and fast. Clones about 4 weeks vegging and 6 weeks flowering for 10 weeks from dome to scissors. Seedlings add a week veg time. By fast and hot I mean I grow smallish (40-48 inch) plants with daily nute water. I keep them jacked up directly under my 1000W flower bulb and harvest when more than 50% of the tris have turned milky or coppery. Works for me, BigSteve.
