Is homegrown quality significantly better?

Moral to this story, I think another grower was born today!!!

And to slik, in my early post, I was refering to commercial as outdoor, self maintaining opps., I suppose there is indoor commercial growers, I wasnt thinking in those terms, but your right, in that the indoor commercial opps would have quality genetics, more so than some of the low class outdoor commercial opps. Good discussion though, grow it big in 09, make Papa chester proud...ha ha ha j/k.

And Gypsy Bush, if you woulda hit this thread 1st, it coulda been a silent movie, no typing required, all in the timing brother!

that looks super dank, how long have you had it flowering
Thanks Casper!

I run a perpetual... and I am a lazy stoner...

So I don't really keep to a strict schedule... I harvest whenever they are done...

So it's hard for me to say exactly how long THAT ONE plant has been in the flower room, because there's always stuff going in and out...lol....

I would guess this is week seven of 10 to 12 for this one..?!?!

Not sure...

But she'll look up at me and smile when she is done...lol...

Cheers!

Hi everyone

All of you guys are really great. I belong to all sorts of forums: automobile, motorcycle, depression, technology,...you name it. But the people here are genuinely nice. I am allergic to alcohol, so this is all I've got, and not long after using the commercial stuff, it just wasn't panning out. So I bought a few seeds, some soil, and as I start to get ready for the vegetative stage, ...there is so much data....type of light, how much, how long, pH, nutrients, cloning, temperature, bugs, LEO, male/female/herma/etc....and I really started to wonder. Anyway I've been watching my little seedlings grow for the last 1.5 weeks and I'm ready to buy lighting, timer, fan, pH stuff, nutrients, flower pots. Today I got a 2x4X6' tent. And I feel so close to the plants....I lost one during seedling. It started drooping, and when I tied it to a popsicle stick, I accidentally uprooted it. :(

I'm even keeping my cats away and growing fresh kitty weed for them. Anyway, I'm excited, eager and anxious. Let me say once again, this forum has really nice, friendly and helpful people.

Cheers,

it does seem like alot to learn at first but after a grow or 2 you'll suddenly realize you now know the answers to the newb questions (nothing against em of course) and are learning more and more all the time, you are gonna get addicted to growing is what im saying basically.....i think of it constantly no matter where i am or what im doing and/or both lol

My advice is to do what I did..

Choose a mentor and follow his recipe...

I am doing exactly what me mentor did, just on a wee bit smaller scale...lol...

...

Remember I am a newb and my success is 100% related to me sticking to a proven plan...
i like the way you think gypsy.

if you can find yourself a good mentor follow what they do to the tee and you'll be rocking and rolling.

a mentor = the best tech support!!!!
everyone needs some tech support once in a while....

greyskull, will you be my mentor?kiss-ass

j/k, im doing okay i think.

but i agree. this is the place to be to learn about growing. you start talking to your friends in the world and aside from probably being robbed of your stuff youll be sticking rusty nails into stems and all that other nonesence.

find a mentor, but check out other peoples methods as well. and im sure anybody in this thread will be glad to help you.

I will just invite you over to my garden...

I JUST did an update...

I have been growing hydro for less than 6 months...

YOU tell me what you think the quality seems to be, compared to what you have access to...

My advice is to do what I did..

Come on over and tell me what you think...

I can only show you the way, it is up to you to take the actual steps...

It takes discipline and commitment, but it has been well worth it to me...:hump:

I'm very very (I repeat) very ready for the steps ahead, as I've taken prepared a list of goals to reach in the near future, including getting a new place and starting up a "better" grow (not to say the one I'm doing now is bad i love you babies) :weed:

Nothing too shabby, but definitely smarter and better is what I'm aiming for. I want to gain vast knowledge in everything ganja.Just doing out the exercise of growing my babies is almost as fun as smokin em! :blsmoke:

All I can say is, I'm hooked :bigjoint:

OK... what happens when the recipe calls for something you disagree with....

What will happen then..?

Will follow the directions? or will you change the recipe...?
