I could get my 400 hps within 12-14" with a 6" fan blowing accross the top so you could get it a few inches closer than that!

T5's or cfl's are best for seedling but mh will do and also do great during veg but you might wanna invest in a hps for flower!

unless you have a 6500 K bulb (unlikely) they aren't that good. Get some 6500 K CFLs.

Yea thanks frmrboi i didnt kno that! Also i have a replacement 400 watt bulb for my hps i dont think its a horticultural bulb will this make a difference in growth when i have to change it?
