does that make sense to anyone? or am i just sounding retarded?
Yes, but I have been accused of being retarded on this topic...kinda lost a friend over it (he is an extremely experienced grower, and got bent when I did not follow his advice to kill everything and start over...duh I need to smoke not wait another 3-4 months!
i just got a gang of pollen on my hand.......
one more question... i read if u have a hermie... take pollen from a hermie and pollenate a female i hear all the seeds will be feminized... is this true? is that how they make fem'd seeds??? thanks
Wow never had more than a little smear of pollen if I smear it between my thumb and forefinger.
As for the femmed seed: As I understand it basically yes. I do not know the method used to stress mary to hermie comercially. Using human genetics of male/female...a female pot plant is XX (male XY) stressing to hermie (XXX) esentially creates pollen that is X or XX. When combined with a female germ cell (X) you get either XX or XXX Breeders (the good ones) then somehow select for seeds that will not exhibit the hermie trait.
I have a couple of very nice fat seeds that I have collected They may be self pollinated or a cross. (if My RD crossed with my K-train and do not show the hermie trait...it could improve the poor trainwreck yield as my cut is trainwreck dom) For the sake of science... I will probably germinate and force flower after taking a cutting...just in case!
I
believe that the rare find of a seed in a nice bud is the result of self polination or accidental hermie of another garden mate. With as many people who grow bagseed...It (germing my hermie seeds) is no more dangerous, and maybe the trait is not dominant. If the gene (trait) is expressed like normal traits...it could be easily lost in the F1...if it is dominant....getting a non-hermie F1 generation (homozygous for XX) would be ~1 out of 16...essentially getting a blond haired blue eyed child from two parents with brown hair and eyes....
