I would still suggest turning them after the 14 days because it looks like you have the room for them to grow some more. You can turn them now if you want but those few extra days will improve your overall results.

the clones look happy now, next time you should trim off the bottom nodes, and snip the tips off of a bunch of leaves, maybe put an open ziploc loosely over the top of the cup to keep humidity up

I have been using a humidity dome. Im still unsure that these have rooted. Im going to be putting together a RIU DIY aero setup so I can start verifying.

M Will do. I want to see the shoots get up and moving a little before I switch so definitly a few more days it is... time is more my constraint... I can get up to 8ft :mrgreen: Just dont have a lot of lighting power for that height.

Looks like you have got the FIM teqnique down pat. There is not much to it really but some people still manage to miss and get it wrong but you got it perfectly.

It is simple to do and its great to hear I did well from the guy that told me how. Thank you. :peace:


TILE: If you havent done it try it out for sure the next veg you have. Im going to get some more shots of the first FIM I did to this plant too. The results are great.

nice plants len, your very handy, i see... i'm trying the coco coir starter pellets now on a couple of brainstorm seeds, i planted them a week ago and they cracked two days later, so i put them in the soaked coco coir pellet, but only one has sprouted out. do you think it could still come up? you do amazing things with your plants and clones, i'm watching this one. thanks.

Thank you for your kind words WB. Its only my second grow but Ive personally learned a ton from just readin on here and especially looking thru M_Blaze journals. Coco is a great way to go.

Did you really put them in the ground and dig them back up? I usually just put them in a cup half full of distilled water and wait for it to crack and expose its root. Then I bury them just under the coco like 1/4" under, put a soft 20 watt cfl about 6 inches above the cup and they usually pop right up. Ive probubly gotten 17 of 20 to come up this way but I destroy them... when I get bags w/ seed I just crack them for practice.

You want much more light on it as it grows. I think its well worth it to invest some money in a nice light system. Rather than buy a hundred CFLs (THough Ive done that too) You just make your yeild much more worth your electricity... Its going to take 400 watt minimum either way to get something decent for your average new grower.

oh, thanks for the response. what i meant is that i started germination. the way i do it is put the seeds in a wet paper towel in a jar and put it in a dark wardrobe. i have them under a few 24 watt cfls for now about 6 inches from the lights. i recently invested in a new 400 watt hid (mh/hps conversion) that i have in a small grow tent that i'll switch them over to when they are a bit older. with this light i know that heat is an issue, so i'm going to try to vent it with an exhaust. i'm not very handy so i'm not sure how this will work. The tent is only 23.5" length by 23.5" width by 47.25" high (real small scale, but fine for my purposes), so i either have to open the tent to vent it, or hook up an effective cooling system. I tried the light with my last (successful) grow and with the tent closed the temps got up to about 108 F with one fan going inside.

this spring i tried growing some lowryder 2 seeds and had no success, but i'm gonna keep trying til i get it right.

You sound like your on the right track is your hood air cooled? If not just fork out the money and get one, and a home depot inline duct fan and connect. I believe the first pic on this journal shows you how I did it. If you dont do a setup like that you better have it in a cool room and be able to leave the tent open and be able to have some powerful fans blowing the air from the room in. I tried my 600 without the vent system I have and I think the room wouldve reached 200* given enough time. I then went and bought an active air hydro one its loud as fuck but keeps me about (80*) as long as its not boiling outside.

Well I watered all the way thru last night at .8EC and the pan water was at 2.10EC I was like wholly fuk i just switched you over and so I flushed it all the way thru with straight PH water and it brought it down to 1.25EC.... I noticed a little stress but she took 2.1 like a champ so I figured 1.25 OK rather than flush thru again. wholly shit though 2.1EC is like 1500ppm. Anyways checked her at midnight and she was real droppy. poor lady. lesson of the day: water thru every time and check pan water.
