Third Time is the Charm

Hey RIU!
:eyesmoke: This is my third grow. Fox Farms dirt with additional worm castings added to the mix. So far in veg we have used water only to prompt this girl to life.

I use Alaska Morbloom 0-10-10 fish ferts, molasses, and a little piss on top of the worm casting about a week before flower.

One week ago I potted up from a 2 litre coke bottle to a 1 1/2 gallon kitty litter jug. Yes, I am a cheap ass... except when it comes to soil and attention to detail.

Right now as summer approaches, I got heat issues kicking in, and the leaf shows it.

As you can see I am training this girl LST style. Bent her over two weeks ago and every other day or so I kind of stretch her out by tugging on the strings.

She was started 12/12 from seed during the last few weeks of my last flowering cycle. Two girls from four seedlings. More about plant two later. The males were tossed.

We are vegging under four 42 watt CFL and one 26 watt in the middle. The last two grows were from start to finish under these lights. Good bud but short on quantity. So this time, time will not be an issue, we are in no hurry. There is local acceptable smoke available and the goal is of course quantity, quality and stealth....... but from only one plant! We will pot up again a week before flower. Flower is scheduled for 6-21-09. Happy Fathers Day!

This is her, pruned and pulled a bit with 30 more days of veg to go! Around 6-10-09 I will drop a few more of these seeds to germ. 12/12 from seed then back to veg 18/6 when they show.

Speaking of seeds. I collect bag seed and only what I like. I give it names of my own since my "go to guy" seldom knows what he has. This was obtained just before Christmas and was omnipotent! Best I have purchased in years....so we call it Hot Stuff!

Hi,

Do you mix the worm castings into your soil, or just layer it on top?

Also, do you add more worm casting for flowering?

My 3rd grow also. I have seemed to destroy my plants at or during the flowering stage. Mostly carelessness and stupidity but Im in the process of what Id call my 3rd grow. I stepped on her a few weeks ago an im trying to salvage a few g's from the poor thing. :spew:

well I have found a great stop to grow outdoors so I plan on rooting some clones and growing there all summer. i have about an 6x8 area. Its in a marsh/swamp about 8-12 inch of water. Good cover with cedars and native plants. I plan on putting all the plants into seperate 2 gal containers and let them flower outdoor. I have it fenced in with left over fencing that was magically sitting out in the marsh. It seems the guy putting in the fence got out a few posts into the marsh and said fuck it:hump: Its a perfect growing area just basically in my backyard. but far enough away to have nothing to do with... Im real stoked about this spot and will posts pics in the future. I have been vegin- and cloning in my closet. Cant wait :peace:

Yes I do mix it into the soil. About two cups to a gallon of soil. I also add it to the tea I feed with. No need to layer it on top.

Thanks for dropping into my new thread!
I like cheap and easy as much organic. Kind of goes hand in hand.

Heres a pic from my first grow. It was a bag seed tetraploid.....in guessing an Afghan Kush.

Hey HH! Sounds like a nice plan you have there! An outdoor grow close to home sounds great. I have only had one successful clone. Seven other cuts since have not born fruit. Im going to take a few this time also, but not until just after I switch back to 12/12. Hmmm... near Cedars might make for some especially fragrant herb. Keep me posted!

Better picks from my first grow.

In this first picture you see my first clone which was also the only salvation in my first 12 seedlings.Of those 12 I had four females and promptly noobed them death by accidentally watering with the wrong jug. Wrong jug contained left over molasses water ferts that were converted to CO2 duty by the simple addition of bread yeast and a hole in the lid, shaken not stirred, and in this case, set to long and became a fetid mess. That feeding killed all four girls but the clone. As you can see in the picture she was a confirmed female and sported pubic hair all through the grow.

Second and third pic shows the triploid foliage and how tortured this poor plant was. Yeilded a third oz. dry weight. What can I say......my first ever bud. I learned as bunch here. First off, I learned I like a kush type buzz, how to recognize one vs a sativa vs a hybrid. It was bag seed. I called it OC Skunk.

I found out that clones will mature quickly and in less soil. I flowered for exactly eight weeks to the day I harvested. Yeild was low for several reasons but it was just the right time. It was just a little past 50/50 amber to cloudy white trichs. Because it was small it hung and dried quickly and easily. Then with just two weeks jarred up it was excellent, oily, and totally gone in two more weeks!:eyesmoke: I was so friggin proud and it was so much better than what I:wall: have been paying for all these years!

For my second grow I germinated some Blueberry and some Hash Plant. Better everything was used except lights. Bag seed of known origins was used. With 90 days of reading under my belt I again tortured some plants through flower and got better results.

The first pic is a Hash Plant.
Second is the BB
Third is one of my first attempts at macro shots. Another HP that hermied but was very trichy.

Some eye candy

First pic is HP. The one on the left is the lanky hermie. Good smoke but lotsa useless seed. The right one was great smoke....smelled like fresh coffee during flower

Second is some close up of the bud in macro

Third is the BB on Christmas morning.

Fourth is the HP also on Xmas morning. They were germed two weeks before the BB but they finished at the same time. Flower took forever.

Here we are about 10 days later. Some Sunday morning sunshine.....21 days till light flip, 16 calyxes so far. She got her first drink of Morbloom last week ( half dose) with some feminine piss (hqlf cup) in one gallon of filtered tap and a little calcium and H3 via foliar.

:eyesmoke:Pics from a few minutes ago. One week since my last shots of Hot Stuff. As you can see she is filling out nicely. The only brown spot on her happened when one of my LST strings slipped and the branch grew into the light. My first genuinely healthy girl, top to bottom...er uh, side to side and twisted, whatever.

I took these pics just a few minutes ago!

Yesterday morning she was fed about 2/3 of a gallon of filtered tap water with a cap full of Morbloom and a loose hand full of worm castings. I use a old iced tea jug and make shaker tea with the cap on then dump into a clean pan just large enough to hold my pot and feed from the bottom up. Once she drinks what she wants I dump some on the surface and set her in the dish strainer for 15 minutes or so before putting her back in the kiln.

Any comments anyone! I have had this thread going for awhile now!!!:cuss:
LSTed this way I have over 18 tops at the moment instead of just one or two. Also my light penetration is better using LST. Im going to have to hold these up with string I am quite sure. While trimming this girl oozes dank smell. Kinda like petting your favorite poontang!;-)

At the beginning of this thread I mentioned plant number two but have thus far not shown her. She was topped at the same time I LSTed this girl. Pics of her coming up.:eyesmoke:

This girl was started the same day as plant #1 but was topped at 4 weeks, same day as LST training started with plant #1.

My point in all this is, while she is healthy, by the time #2 recovered from being topped which was about the time I started this post, plant #1was well ahead in growth and vigor. For those seeking lotsa top bud sites in a hurry, LST is the way to go in my opinion.:blsmoke:

#2 is sturdy though, and both arms will probably support some weight better than #1's many splayed and stretched branches.

#2 is now in early LST training and will be vegged another month until #1 is half way thru flower. Then she will be flipped to 12/12

On the back burner are two Tale of Whoa!
Sprouts were up two days ago and these will go into 12/12 with #1 Hot Stuff until they show sex.

Im running 18/6 for veg in case I did not mention it before. During the week this is optimal for me as I sleep about 6 hours a night and I visit the girls daily and I get up around dawn. I have two light timers but visit the girls once or twice a day and dont mind putting em to bed at night... just like my kids. Ok, my grand kids...and not often enough.

Umph wait up....stokes bowl...passes to silly woman nearby and........waits patiently as she lights and passes back.........intermission........... Wooooo... a fatty too!:eyesmoke: Only got about half down before old lungs said enuff!

Enjoy!
