Is cloning from a plant on 12/12 a good idea?

So my plants are growing fast, and I am thinking of putting them on 12/12

But the thing is, there are no nodes yet, so I cannot clone them right now.

Is it a good idea to clone them once they have been on 12/12 for 2-3 weeks?

I just need some bud in july :)

the strike rate of 12/12clones is lower than veg clones
im about to try it in 2 weeks when my plant is about be ready 4 harvest
also are you sure ur not going to grow your plants in veg 4 a little longer
i always wait till there are atlternating nodes before going 12/12

3 months to veg a clone? Jeebus! I usually give it 2-3 weeks to root, then 4 weeks of veg. Why do u veg for 3 months?

I think I won't veg them any longer, will just put them on 12/12, and when possible will take as many clones as I can

Then, when they flower, I will kill all clones from those who turn out males

there is no problem with taking clones from a flowering plant.. the biggest set back is it takes about an extra week for it to grow roots... i have taken clones from plants 4 weeks into flowering and had a 100% success rate on rooting them.. it just to about 2x as long to get them to root as it would if they were taken during veg... they just have to revert the flowering hormones to rooting hormones before they will start growing roots... and its like reverting any plant.. it takes time... there is no point in wasting time cloning all your plants if you dont know which ones are males... just start flowering and once you know your females clone them.. just give it 14 days or so before roots are grown enough to transplant your clones and start veg growth on them... just hate to see anyone waste their time on something like cloning possible males...

good luck

I have two girls flowering 7 weeks now and wanted to take one of the very small buds on a brnch to then use as a clone and start two new plants. Almost all of my leaves are yellow . Is this the right way to do it?

best way to take a cutting is this

1) make a 45 degree cut removing the cutting from the plant.. use a VERY sharp utensil (razor blade, exacto knife) to do this.. also dip it in rubbing alcohol in between cuts to make sure its clean... this will eliminate infections at the cut sites...

2) scrap the bottom 1/2" or so of flesh away from the bottom of the cutting and dip into either rooting powder or rooting gel... either works... some people say the powder stays on better.. i use a cloning machine and the gel works fine for me since it just adds more hormones to the resevoir anyways... choice is yours again... the scraping helps to give more surface area for the rooting hormones to come in contact with... helps the rooting process..

3) place in clone machine or rooting medium...

4) you can remove leaves if you want... strip it down to just a few top leaves... or ive seen ones where you leave the leaves on the clone... just cut the large fans in half... both work well... i personally am going to start leaving everything on and just trimming large leaves in 1/2... but its up to you.. watch some of MYGIRLS videos on youtube or check his posts if your interested in taking large cuttings and leaving the leaves on...
