My Northern Soul Harvest

Greetings! I just harvested my Northern Soul and thought I would put up a few pics. Indoor grow using CFLs. Wet weight = 4.15oz. I'm hoping for close to 2 ozs when dry. I also have a Barneys Farm Blue Cheese going as well. It took on a more Sativa like structure and is still a few weeks away from harvest. It sure does smell good though!!! I'm germinating an "Afghan Kush" and "Pakistan Valley" as we speak. I'm getting better with each grow thanks to all of your help. Thanks & Peace! :leaf: :bigjoint:

Sorry for the picture quality. Gotta get a new camera!

how tall did your northern soul grow to? mine is currently in the second week of flower (dwc) and is 4 foot and growing, too much for the closet that its in at the moment.
Also was it one plant or a few plants you got your 4.15oz from?

My NS was 3 feet tall. It continued to grow substantially taller as it was flowering. The wet weight of that one plant was 4.15oz. After dry & cure it weighed out at 1.88oz. It lost a little more weight than I had expected. But the smoke.............the longer it cures, the better it gets. I'm going to start another one in a few months. I'm working with auto flowering strains for the first time. Just harvested 2 White Dwarf and sampled a bit of it. I think it's gonna be another fine smoke! Good luck with your NS and tell the not so little lady to slow down!

nice one, shes getting rather large now but have made some extra room so alls going well, took some cuttings from it and they have rooted wll so will be starting them real soon, oh the joys of gardening lol

I've been smoking dope for 36 years and the first time I ever gave any thought to growing was 5 years ago. (I'd already been gardening for over 10 years......mostly medicinal herbs). So on a whim, I put 1 bag seed in the ground, stealthily hidden by the air conditioning unit outside. Watching that plant, which luckily turned out to be a female, as it spent the summer growing, developing, changing appearance.......Damn, it was so cool! Now I grow indoors and have just begun growing auto flowering strains. The White Dwarf is excellent. But I'm babbling. I actually just wanted to give you my humble advice and tell you to let that NS flower as long as possible. Once you've harvested, it's gonna be damn good. For me, I had expected more of a wallop....more couch lock. I got that pretty good. However, with Northern Soul, (yes, as most others), time definitely does add to potency. But there is something special about the Northern Soul. One of my sons told me last night that he got rave reviews from his friends. He said one dude, who can out smoke anyone I know, told him he was "gone" after the first hit!

Savor your Northern Soul. You might even want to set it aside, only to be smoked on special occasions or with those special friends/people. I've still got 2 seeds left and will be starting them soon. They'll make for nice Xmas gifts! Anyway, ENJOY!! :peace: :joint:

nice one, i have dabbled a few times in the past but only now decided to give it a real go, to be honest the only reason im doing it is because me and me fella are spending to much buying it so thought why not save a few quid and grow our own, like you i have two seeds left but think if this one turns out ok will just keep taking cuttings from the other two and go from there, so much easier than hoping the seeds germinate etc, would like to try a few different train though, have you any ideas as to hat i could try next?

That's exactly why I started growing my own. I've gone through 2 rounds of chemo for Hepatitis C, "coke Straw", to no avail. Long story and I won't bore you with it. But, what once was a regular, daily part of my life.....smoking pot, has now become the most effective of the 10 other meds they have me on, (I use a vaporizer). Anyway, I'm not able to work any longer and I am living on a very limited budget, (waiting for the government to give me my disability benefits....assholes!)......and I refuse to smoke swag. I'm trying the auto flowering strains now. If the potency is at least as good as "regular" strains, I will never again need to give my money to anyone for smoke!! Except to the seed bank...lol

As to other strains to check out.....I still have to rank Northern Lights as my personal favorite. Here are a few that I've grown and was very pleased with: Blue Cheese, Double Gum, Purple Passion, Pakistan Valley, and Road Runner, (an auto flowering ass kicker). So those are a few suggestions. And I'm certain others can recommend some strains as well. Just enjoy growing the Northern Soul. I do Reiki sessions every morning and evening on my plants and have a small boom box in the closet playing classical music. They love it! Have fun and have a great weekend! Peace!

Sorry to hear of your problems, makes my life sound rosey in comparison. have heard of the auto flowering type and that sound pretty good.
Have moved the light on my northern soul as its become rather large (moved it to the side of the plant and agled it for the light to hit the plant more, if size is anything to go by it should produce a fair bit, its in the 4th week now and is 5ft 8in, to tall according to many people, but have come this far so may as well grow it out.

I appreciate your kind words. It's the freaking government that's screwing me over. Anyway, it sounds like things are going well with Ms. Soul. Let her grow!! Definitely, let her grow out and cherish her rewards!!!
You won't be sorry! Here's what I got off a 2 foot NS. :joint: :peace:
