Please advise..Pail question

Got a quick question about growing outside with pails.
Due to security reasons I have decided to grow a few plants in 20 litre pails and then burying them so that in the event of site compromise, I will be able to relocate them.
Should I maybe fill the bottom of the hole with a layer of rocks for drainage ease?. If so how many holes should I drill in the bottom of the pails? Same like a normal pot?
Also, will a 20 litre pail be sufficient throughout the grow season. Will I end up with root-bound plants? Yield is not my top priority as I am growing for personal use.
Any tips and information would be greatly appreciated.

answered it on the other one i think
You did and thanks for the reply.

To clarify the drainage, i was wondering if i should line the bottom of the hole with rocks before i drop the pail in....aid drainage? Also I take it i will have to water twice as often pending on the weather right? Totally new to growing in pails....wish i didnt have to. Thanks again Liebe.

i've never lined the hole that you put the pales/pots in with rocks but i'm sure it couldn't hurt (only help) drainage. dont set a schedule on your watering. feel the soil. you want it to be dry no water in at at all when you water. also the leaves will kinda droop a little bit when they want watering. just make sure not to water too much or the roots cant breath
