My first grow attempt was ruined when the seedling got too lanky stretching for more light. Now I am using Rapid Rooter and a special CFL light for seedlings.
After the tap root appeared using the wet paper towel method, I planted them into the Rapid Rooters. They spend about 6 hours in Northern CA sun, and then another 8 hours under the CFL. They haven't pushed out of the soil yet (3 days so far). Rapid Rooters have a dual tray which allows for excess water to drain. My question is that I am concerned that once a day watering is NOT enough. The soil seems very dried. I have to spray them at least twice a day since the Rapid Rooters are very small pods. Has anyone used them before? I always hear people say that if the soil feels "light" it needs some water - but to a first timer, this is hard to judge.
And with the dual tray, would it be safer to err on the side of overwatering [slightly]?
