And yes they are shaded slightly by a tree. It gets really hot here in the summers so i think it will help.

But i might trim the tree above them, let me know your thoughts

Day 38
They are in full sun now
All 4 are topped, they had some bug problems but that is taken care of now and they are on there way
Big watering tonite

Also i will be putting covers on the pots because now that they are in full sun it gets very very hot.

Yeah you can see they needed full sun because they were starting to stretch for the light.
Give 'em a week to come back from the topping and they'll start to take off.
These pot covers, are they to cover the soil so it doesn't dry out as fast?

Well they were to cover the pot so when the roots go on the outside of the pot they dont get burnt by the heat..

but should i do that too? could i do that with rocks or something?

If your getting roots out the bottom of the pot I would say it's time for bigger pots.
At what stage of the grow do you normally have this happening?
