How many GPH should my pump be?

Well, I'm trying to find some storage bins that will fit the dimensions of my area (roughly 16"x16" give or take an inch), that being said, there will be 6 plants in the veg room (2 mothers), and 4 plants flowering. How much water needs to be used, and how many GPH should the pump be?

edit: And if anyone knows of any bins I could use with those dimensions, I would be much obliged if you provided me with a link. Same goes for the pump.

I have a question about your setup because there could be a logistical problem. You said you are going to have 2 mothers and 4 flowering plants in the same room? that won't work unless you either A.) put up a 100% light-proof barrier between the two, or B) You don't care if your mother's start flowering and turn into grandma's. But anyways as far as your question is concerned, I would think some rubbermaid bins would suit you just fine. They make so many different sizes, one of them is bound to work. Go to Target or Wal-mart to find these. For your pump, I don;t want to give misinformation so take this with a grain of salt. I grow DWC so I'm not as well versed in the pumps. Everything I know I have learned only from reading. To answer this, I would also need to know if it si ebb n flow, drip, or aeroponic. I think it makes a difference.

pump size depends on how many spray heads your going to use, for a tub setup most likely a 250gph and up will do fine, even 350

Not trying to hijack the thread, but would that be the same for ebb n flow or drip?

nah you can go lighter with a dripper , but in trial and error, 25gph per sprayhead is the absolute weakest to go, a 350gph for 12 spray heads will be exactly what your looking for

nono, the setup will work fine, i'm getting 2 pumps for 2 tanks in 2 chambers, i dno if i wrote it right this morning because i was fuckin tired, and am too lazy to scroll up and read instead of rambling like this

i'm pretty psyched about this, because it would be perfect for me, probably 2 ounces a harvest

that would be aeroponic(where the roots just hang in the air and the misters are getting water to the roots)

google Ecoplus 396 submersible pump. thats what i use in my diy aero rubbermaid and i think thats something like youre trying to do

like the smaller tub seen here?

exactly like that, just a bit smaller if i can find it. i didn't know they came submersible though, that's pretty cool, saves me like 3 inches, and in this small of a space, that makes all the difference

Every spray mister is rated at GPH usually between 17 GPH and 25 GPH, but not always.... Multiply how many misters you have by their rated GPH and thats about the size pump you need. Personally I go a little bigger on the pump and add a "T", one side to the misters and the other to a valve that i turn on a bit to keep the nutes moving. Not needed, but I do it so as not to strain the pump with back-pressure.. .

The gph figure is only accurate if you use the rated pressure for the micro sprinkler or sprayer, standard irrigation nozzles usually run on 15psi-30psi. Using a lower pressure will reduce the rated gph output of the nozzle and the coverage.
A mister nozzle uses less than 2gph but you`ll need a lot more pressure to run one.
