.....mercury is a metal.....that at room temp is a liquid....it is extremely toxic if injested..... but no i wouldnt be worried unless ur licking ur bulbs

lol alright i just got nerves because the grow room is in my room and i have asthma and was worried about a gas or something lol thanks

Well touching mercury long enough will harm you. Just keep away from it. If you just broke the bulb then you should be more worried about cutting yourself on the glass.

its isnt elemental mercury (the silver liquid metal we are all used to), but instead it is mercury vapor....
as stated above, cfls use mercury vapor inside, which is why you cant just throw them in your garbage.... i would look into (google away) what cleaning steps to go through, especially with you having asthma.
