Advice on growtent / 1st timer!

Hello, nice to meet you all :)

My boyfriend and I are looking to set up a little home operation for personal enjoyment, and I'd love some feedback on our plans so far, as we have never grown before and could use all the help we can get!

We are planning on growing in our garage, as it's out of the way, and as we are in a rented house, we can't start tearing lumps out of the ceilings and boarding up windows . We have decided to use a growtent, as when we move, we can pack it up and take it all with us.

The equipment we are looking at buying is:
BudBox (large) 1m x 1m x 1.8m
Maxibright Compact 600w with CoolTube
600w sunmaster superHPS (95000 lumens)
RVK 1251A fan + 100mm carbon filter (225m3/hr) + Ducting (EDIT: Upgraded from a slightly weaker fan)

Could anyone tell me if all of this will be suitable for a growtent of that size? I was originally looking at a cheaper 600w light without the cooltube covered light, but read that it would be too hot inside a grow tent. Is it worth spending an extra £30 on the cooltube light?

Also, if anyone has used the budbox, are there adequate venting holes to attach all of these items properly, and in the right place? It's quite hard to find pictures online that show clearly.

Is the fan i mentioned going to create enough air circulation to keep the plants healthy? Or should I add another fan? What kind would be best if so?

We are planning to grow in soil, how many plants could I optimally grow in a 1m x 1m area? Don't want to over fill the area and hamper growth.

Thanks in advance for any help :) love your site!

Humidity, heat and bugs is what you will have to concour growing in a garage. If this is your first grow and it's just for personal use, grow a maxium of 4 plants. That should not overwhelm you and there is potential for a nice harvest.
Make sure you get a PH meter or pen. What nutes are you using?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

4 sounds like a manageable number, I'm pretty happy with that.

On my smaller shopping list i have a pH meter as well as a thermometer and hydrometer. We haven't bought anything yet, as I wanted to check with people who knew better than I did before spending loads of cash.

Which nutes would you recommend using?

Also do you have any idea if that one fan is adequate for ventilation, or should I buy some others too?

You definitaly need a vented reflector inside those grow tents because they get really hot!

If you get the inline cool tube then you should be set as far as the heat from the light in concerned. Are you using that Carbon filter to bring fresh air in, or to remove the smell? You will need another inline fan for that as well either way.

Then all you would need is a couple of small fans for air circulation and hope the garage itself does not get too hot and humid.

There is a line of organic nutes out there from an ebay company called Blue Mountain Organics...search BMO on ebay. They have a complete nutrient package for about 25 bucks. I have used their super plant tonic (root innoculant) on my ladies and limited use of their grow nutes (on house plants). OMFG! is all I can say.

As far as air exchange...the more the better :hump:

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I'm a big noob with the terminology...

Is a vented reflector, the reflector from my light? Do you mean I have to run ducting either side of the light so that the air passes through the top half of the tent, and doesn't interfere with the plants?

I'm not 100% sure what I'm using the carbon filter for tbh, I thought it was used in conjunction with the fan to draw air out of the tent, but now I'm not so sure . Where would I attach the second fan?

Sorry for being such a noob .
