Does pH Up/Down Kill Beneficial Bacteria?

I was just wondering if the use of pH up and down products will kill off the beneficial bacteria I am using?

I spent money on a chlorine filter so I won't kill them with that, but I would hate to be wasting money on my bacteria if the pH stuff is killing them.

Thanks,
Bob

Your talking about beneficial fungi right?

PH up/down isnt a fungicide and youll be fine. I use it myself and it works great. I forget what PH they do best in but youll be fine running it in the MJ range of 5.5-6.5. ive used it in both hydro and soil.

First off, no the ph up and down won't kill your fungi. Second proper soil ph is between 6.5-7. 5.5 is too low.

A dead res is a happy res. Im tired of trying to keep em happy. who was it that said, "Im not so good at playing god in an microbe war I cannot see.."

Get some hydrogen peroxide and kill the res and have less issues... :)

Thanks for the replies.

I grow in soil and I know what pH range to run and whatnot. I just wanted to make sure that the pH solutions were not going to kill off the beneficials like chlorine does.

I called the hydro shop here and he said it was fine too, but I just wanted to make sure. I just called him because I thought it was sunday and not saturday lol.

I have heard that very concentrated ph up or down can kill bennies and enzymes.......no worries....that's only in the acids pure form............ if you add bennies and enzymes after you ph then they are already diluted.......Simple............Peace
