Hard soil, water pours out the container

So I watered my plants today and 4 of 10's soil is really hard and when I water it doesn't like to penetrate the soil very much, it leaks out the drain holes almost immediately, so I damn near flushed them to get sufficient water and dampening of the soil. They do happen to be the largest among the 10 I have. I'm stumped? Comments, Rep, ::begging:: kiss-ass:confused::neutral:bongsmilie:eyesmoke:

i use the same soil as you..and the same thing happens to me..i just put a plate under my pot and water till some water comes out of the bottom...then let it sit ..it will soak up the runoff after a few mins..then water just a little more..works for me ..hope it helps you..peace

lol...all these solutions. bro, just take a long pointy object, and poke holes, this will airate ur soil and help with draining. just dont go crazy with it cuz the roots are in there. u can add a stick or a couple sticks and that does the same thing. its all up to u bro.
