How Soon to Start LST?

I have 12 bagseed plants I'm growing outdoors, and they are stretching like crazy. They're only on their second set of true leaves, yet their almost 3 or 4 inches tall. It's kind of soon to start LSTing, but do do you think I could start early in order stop them from stretching?

Is there any other way I could slow down the stretching?

i'm in the same boat. I'm only a week in, and may scrap it all and start fresh. I started my seedlings (bagseed) outside and then decided to grow inside. Only then did i wise up to the close proximity factor with my CFLs. I was thinking about letting them grow and then using LST.

I just hope their strong enough to LST now, because if I let them keep growing then they're going to fall over at this rate.

In the past day after moving my CFLs on top and around the plants (6 lights total) the new leaves that have come in have almost no space between the new nodes. I've seen peeps on here adding a support stake to their spindly stems. Maybe you/we could stake them til they're bigger to begin the LST. I'll post some pics today or tomorrow. Good luck to u brotherman.

im on my first grow, i have 2 seperate cabs, one has 4x diesel ryder autoflowering dwarfs, and the other has 1x skunk #1 (fem) and 1x thai superskunk.

im my main cab i have 2x diesel ryders at 6 weeks old, and i let them grow normaly for 3 weeks then i slowly stretched the lower branches out farther and farther to get more light on the lower buds, this has doubled my plants size in 3 weeks ( both bigger ones) and i have one that i have been lst'ing since 1. 1/2 weeks old and it is growing awesome and showed signs of sex at 2weeks.

in my seperate cab i have a skunk #1 that i ahve done nothing to at all, and a thai superskunk seed, the thai was 5 inches @ 1 weeks old, so i trimmed her up a bit and started stretching ( with very very good results, 9 nodes), from my experience so far as a noob i would say that you could start lst'ing whenever you feel like it is time, just do a little bit of research before hand.

Oh ok, I think I'll start once the third node is completely developed because the second node is just starting to come in. I'll let you know how it goes once I start
